Customer Review Summary
Burgers draw the most mentions at this pub near the station. One reviewer's kids loved them and another called theirs really tasty, though the chips arrived under done and not very crispy, and the order took around 30 minutes. Close behind is friendly staff, with several praising floor staff who stayed smiling through a busy service and one noting team members who have been there for years. Reviewers also name the biscoff cheesecake, pink prosecco and the beer, along with the refurbishment and the indoor and outdoor seating. Complaints cluster around atmosphere. One reviewer felt the woman behind the bar looked like she would rather be elsewhere. Another found staff not overly friendly on a busy Saturday of football and a children's birthday party. A third left right after eating because a DJ was playing extremely loud music with tables moved into a dance floor. One reviewer calls the food mediocre, while others praise how fresh the meals are, down to onion rings made with a proper batter rather than from frozen.

“Love the refurb that the pub has done, always great service and we see some staff members that have been there for years which is good sign for a good business. Great that I can get pink prosecco and hubby loves the Madri. The pub has a mixed age clientelle and the facilities are great.”

“Great English pub in the middle of Marlow, good outside patios and beer. Mediocre food.”

“I want to preface this review by saying, I understand it was the last England game of the world cup and I can imagine it wasn’t the most fun day to work. I really enjoyed the food and overall had quite a good experience. It was pretty busy when we visited, we left before the football because its not really mine and my wifes scene but the two staff members, the woman and the man, working on the floor were great. They were clearly a little rushed off their feet, but they stayed friendly, kept smiling, and just got on with it. They also seemed like they got on really well with each other, which was genuinely nice to see and were always laughing at/with each other about something or other which made me and my wife laugh a few times becasue they seemed so at ease with not only the job but one another. The only thing that took the good edge off was the atmosphere at the bar. The woman behind the bar looked like she'd rather be anywhere else, and it did make things feel a bit awkward. I completely get that everyone has off days, especially when it's busy, and I don't think anyone should be expected to plaster on a smile all day. That said, the mood of the staff really does influence the atmosphere of a place, and it was noticeable, I really hope this was a one off for her because I could see it affecting business in time. I don’t usually write reviews and I don’t want this to reflect the evening we had, but a good attitude goes a long way. That aside, the food was good, drinks were good and the floor staff did a brilliant job keeping everything running during a busy service.”

“We popped in to watch football on a Saturday afternoon. It was very busy as there was a childrens birthday party in one of the areas. Staff were okay. Not overly friendly or helpful. We didn't eat. Unsure if we would return.”

“What a lovely pub to visit with family and friends. There is a new menu that isn't overwhelming and quality is superb for the price I have paid. I'm actually very impressed (as a big foodie myself) how fresh the meals are , even onion rings were made with a proper batter and not from frozen. My kids absolutely loved burgers too. Thank you to the staff for being really friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back for more.”
