About Peter Street Kitchen
Peter Street Kitchen is a Manchester restaurant serving a fusion of Japanese and Mexican cooking, set inside the Grade II* listed Free Trade Hall within a hotel. The six-course omakase is a tasting menu prepared by the kitchen team, and an à la carte menu runs alongside it for diners who prefer to choose their own dishes. Plates are small and made for sharing at the table, among them the roasted aubergine and duck salad, wagyu fried rice and stone bass. Vegan and gluten free menus are offered, along with vegetarian options. The drinks list covers cocktails, wine and sake. A DJ or live music plays in the evening.

Customer Review Summary
The recurring complaint is noise. Several say the live music or DJ was too loud, and one adds that the tables sit fairly close together. One vegetarian reviewer found the empanadas and soy chicken too small and a little expensive, and wanted bigger tables to fit all the tapas dishes. Another notes the toilets are a bit far inside the hotel. One reviewer closes on the January savings deal.

“Food is always great, but service (especially from Salim, who is the same waiter I’ve had for breakfast for the past 8 years) is an absolute delight. Nothing is ever too much trouble, everything is delivered with a smile. Easy to keep coming back to the same hotel when the staff like Salim make you feel so at home!”

“Jaya our waiter was super friendly, polite and helpful, they made sure we had everything we needed! We had a lovely experience and the food was also amazing. The atmosphere was great, but the tables are fairly close together and the music was quite loud so some people may find it a little noisy.”

“Our server, Salvatore, was so attentive, entertaining, polite, funny, and friendly. Definitely would come back just for him and the food of course.”

“Really lovely dining experience — the restaurant’s interior was beautiful and set the perfect atmosphere. Every dish we tried was excellent, especially the stone bass (far more delicious than it looks) and the wagyu fried rice. Service was fantastic as well. Special thanks to Demi for taking such great care of us last night, we had a genuinely wonderful time.”

“A fantastic dining experience from start to finish. We were warmly welcomed by Domenico, who made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and looked after us throughout the evening. The service was exceptional, and every dish was absolutely delicious—full of flavour and beautifully presented. Compliments to the chef! A special mention to Jaya, who was outstanding. He was professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about every dish. He took the time to explain the menu, guided us through our order, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our meal. Everything was timed perfectly, and the whole experience was faultless. We can't wait to return!”
