About Panama Hatty's Grill
Panama Hatty's Grill is a restaurant on Fairfax Rd in Manchester, the younger sibling of an original Cheshire site that has run for over four decades. The menu leans on pulled pork, which turns up in the pulled pork enchiladas with barbecue sauce and, with bacon, on the Dirty Gaucho burger. A sharing platter brings together salt and pepper chicken wings, barbecue ribs, potato skins, onion rings, tortilla chips, corn cobs and dips. Steak comes with an onion ring on top, and the sides include sweet potato fries, guacamole and soured cream. A set menu and a brunch menu are offered alongside the main list. The bar carries 65 gins, plus cocktails and wine.

Customer Review Summary
Friendly, efficient staff are the most repeated praise, with diners describing servers who fussed over children, stayed chatty without intruding, and made guests feel welcome. The food draws split opinions. Fans single out the Dirty Gaucho burger with its thick juicy patties, pulled pork and bacon, plus ribs that fall off the bone in bbq sauce, a steak cooked perfectly under an onion ring, a generous set menu and really good cocktails. Close behind, several call the decor and atmosphere lovely. Price is the recurring complaint. Reviewers call the food overpriced, citing four thin slices of garlic bread, tiny guacamole and soured cream sides, and a small rump steak, while the burgers are called ample. Others found the fish pie and steak and ale pie under seasoned and uninspiring, the brunch menu very limited, and the pulled pork enchiladas filled with bbq pork that was not as described. One underwhelmed reviewer still points to the 65 gins behind the bar as a reason to return.

“Had a fantastic meal at this spot in Prestwich. Everything from the presentation to the taste was spot on. The steak was cooked perfectly and looked great with the onion ring on top. We also loved the dessert, which came stacked high with cream, nuts, and a wafer. It was a proper treat. The service was lovely and the atmosphere was just right for a nice meal out. We will definitely be back again soon.”

“Had nice time , Caroline the waitress was exceptional a real people person very polite and efficient . Infact all the staff were spot on. Me and my daughter had Brunch here for the first time but in all honesty we didn’t think it was worth the money. Very very limited menu and limited alcoholic drinks too . The food was average absolutely not quality in anyway from my experience of other restaurants and Brunch. I guess it’s not every bodies cup of tea but it suits some….”

“Food was decent. Had garlic bread to start and pulled pork enchiladas for main with sides of soured cream and guacamole. Garlic bread was fine. It's garlic bread so kinda hard to mess up. Enchiladas were nice but the pulled pork inside was bbq pulled pork which was not what it was described as so that, mixed with enchilada sauce on top was weird. Also, the size of the portions of guacamole and soured cream were tiny which was more annoying considering they charge £2 per portion and have the audacity to call it a "side." Prices in general were a bit over the top. Almost £8 for 4 thin slices of garlic bread was a rip off (was expecting more than just bread on a plate for that price) and the enchiladas themselves were also a bit on the small side (they put them in a smaller sized pan on a wooden board to try and make them look bigger than they are) All tasted fine but probably would find somewhere else in the future”

“The decor is lovely, been a few times, the food is quite nice but massively overpriced for what it is, if you fancy a steak go to a proper steak house and spend your almost £30 for a small 8oz rump, the burgers are ample and the staff are friendly”

“We went to celebrate our engagement. The food was really yummy although the chicken wings were a bit dry but still tasted good. Pudding was lovely and really nice wine. The service was good as well, the bill took some time to come but that's all. Overall good service and food, would recommend and come back again.”
