About Remal Restaurant
Remal Restaurant is a family-run Lebanese restaurant in Manchester, at 501 Bury New Rd. Bread is made in house and baked in a clay oven, and it comes with the hummus with minced lamb, a starter on the menu. Among the mains, the Chef's Mix is a mixed grill served with Arabic rice or chips. Moroccan tagine dishes and mint tea sit alongside the Lebanese menu, so the kitchen covers two cooking traditions. The menu also lists a chicken and halloumi burger. Homemade baklava is on offer for dessert.

Customer Review Summary
The chef's mix is the dish reviewers return to most, described as succulent, tender and juicy, and a massive mixed grill left enough to box up and enjoy twice. Close behind is the hummus with minced lamb, called silky smooth, and the fatoush salad, found tasty and fresh. Portions are repeatedly called generous or massive, and several reviewers describe the meat as not overcooked. Staff are consistently called attentive and kind, with one reviewer noting they checked for allergies and provided high chairs. Reviewers also mention homemade bread served hot with starters, and one calls the place a bit of a fusion for its tagine dishes and Moroccan style mint tea. The criticisms are small. One reviewer found the Arabic rice a bit bland and missing the richness of the rest of the meal, and the fatoush lacked pomegranate juice. Another wished the mint tea had actual tea leaves and more mint. In one visit, a diner's father fainted, and staff arranged for the family to take their remaining food away.

“I visited remal the first time following many recommendations. The food was excellent, all of the staff were incredibly kind and attentive and unfortunately during our visit my father had an unexpected fainting episode. Throughout the process, the staff supported us as his family and genuinely cared about his safety whilst also running a very busy restaurant. He was okay very shortly after but they looked after us, they arranged for us to take all of our remaining food away and they are genuinely such wonderful people who deserve a 5 star review. Thank you to all at remal!”

“Been to quite a few lebanese restaurants around Manchester and this is the best so far! Although I’d say it’s a bit of a fusion as they also have tagine dishes and moroccan style mint tea. Not complaining though! Meats are lovely and not overcooked like almost all places and everything was just great! Massive portions!!!! Something I wish they’d improve on though, it would be better if their moroccan mint tea actually had the tea leaves in and more mint leaves.”
