About Momo Shop
Momo Shop is a Nepalese restaurant at 495 Barlow Moor Rd in Manchester, and its menu centres on momos. The pan-fried momos come in Jhol style or with a butter sauce, and the Butter Chicken Momos sit within that range. Vegan and vegetarian dishes appear on the menu alongside meat options, so the kitchen covers more than one way of eating. The restaurant opens in the evenings only, Tuesday to Sunday, and closes on Mondays. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the momos, especially the pan-fried chicken momos with butter sauce, which one reviewer calls fantastic with a sweetness that worked as a dip for roti, and another says they ordered a second bowl of straight away. Close behind are the Butter Chicken Momos, buffalo momos, steamed momos with a tomatoey sauce, and keema noodles. Chicken wings, lamb ribs with cheesy chops and dessert also get mentions. Portions are described as generous and several say the food arrived quickly, while the staff are called friendly and lovely. The recurring complaint is noise: reviewers say the small room gets loud when busy, with one unable to hear family across the table and having to shout. One diner found the keema noodles too spicy, another found everything but the momos merely fine, and one says service was a little slow. Several suggest booking a table in advance. One reviewer notes the staff helped bag up leftovers, and another received Starburst sweets with the bill.

“This place is such a gem of a restaurant. Such generous portion sizes and food that is seasoned and never bland. Caters for vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters, so great for mixed groups. I’be been here multiple times and never left dissatisfied or disappointed. The only issue I’ve ever ran into is that sometimes it can get pretty loud as it’s only a small restaurant. I couldn’t hear my family who were sat opposite me, and we had to shout to speak to one another. Of course this isn’t the restaurant’s fault. But just something to consider if you’re not a fan of loud spaces when it’s busy! Please try this place, you won’t regret it!”

“Really good visit, the food really is fantastic and the food came out really quick! Highly recommend the butter sauce, it knocked my socks off, that first taste was a delight, we ordered another bowl straight away. Can't wait to go again. They do dessert too which was so good. Was also delighted with the price, £30 per head including beers, tip and leaving absolutely stuffed!”

“Beautifully decorated restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. This was my first time trying Nepalese food, and I absolutely loved it! My favourites were the Jhol pan-fried momos, the chicken wings, and the Butter Chicken Wrap. Everything was so flavourful and delicious. I can’t wait to come back and try more dishes from the menu. Highly recommended!”

“So much food for such a low price? I was absolutely stuffed, and the food was delicious. We literally tried every vegan dish on the menu. I will definitely be back. The only issue is that it gets a bit loud due to the acoustics in the restaurant when it's busy, but it honestly wasn't too bad. The staff is super friendly as well. Book a table to not be disappointed, the place is popular!”
