About San Remo
San Remo is an Italian restaurant at 70-72 Manchester Rd in Denton, on the side of the main road and a short walk from Crown Point. Live entertainment, such as a Michael Jackson tribute act, puts a show alongside the meal. The menu includes steak, cannelloni and chicken in a white wine sauce, so the kitchen covers both pasta and meat dishes. Cocktails appear on the drinks list for diners who want something other than wine with their food.

Customer Review Summary
Ribs are the dish reviewers raise most, described as melting in the mouth and just as delicious as remembered, though one diner found them only ok on a later visit. Close behind are a steak cooked exactly as requested, and a cannelloni and a chicken in white wine sauce that were both called tasty. Staff are often described as friendly and accommodating, including with a child's food allergy, and several mention a lovely atmosphere. The complaints concern kitchen consistency and how problems were handled. One diner received a steak that was mostly fat and well done, a watery sauce, and vegetables that looked days old alongside onion rings and chips that seemed frozen. A regular reported soggy garlic bread, tough chicken, and a cold pasta dish that was microwaved and then left after a couple of mouthfuls, with the feedback met by a shrug. Another first-timer's main arrived burnt, and the manager took it off the bill once it went back, while a Michael Jackson tribute act had the room clapping and singing.

“Booked a table to celebrate an anniversary today, table of two, sat us squished in a corner next to a massive party when the rest of the restaurant was empty. Took a while to take our order. Started - pate was ok, only 3 teeny pieces of bread (not enough) and ribs were ‘ok’ (when previously thought best we had ever had!) mains came, medium rare steaks - 80% of one steak was fat and it was well done. Other had a sauce that was extremely watery not creamy. Veg looked like it had been in the oven a few days and was not edible. Onion rings and chips clearly frozen - and not cooked well from the chef! We told the staff about the veg to which they replied ‘We don’t charge for that anyway it just comes with the steak’ so I said ‘don’t worry I’ll just do a review and the young male waiter swore at me under his breath. Amazing service from very young people who clearly have no respect for customers. Chef wasn’t happy we didn’t like his food. Will not recommend or return. 50% whole of July and August… for a reason. Meal came to £86.50! (That’s WITH the 50% off discount) Ate around 30% I suppose we paid for the attitude from the chef and male waiter”

“Very good. We had a cannelloni and chicken in a white wine sauce. Both really tasty. Half price too which was incredible value.”

“We haven't been here for 6 years ago since we moved out of the area and came back tonight as we were in the area with our kids with us honestly was excellent really enjoyable and the ribs are just as I remembered delicious. We will be back next time we are in the area! The staff were excellent and really accommodating for my daughter with a food allergy. Thank you again.”

“We visit Sam Remo regularly, it’s usually fairly good, however, tonight we waited longer than usual to be served with less than average food, firstly the garlic bread was soggy and undercooked, followed by a tough chicken main, my pasta dish was cold, when I mentioned it it was swiftly microwaved 🤦🏼♂️ after a couple of mouthfuls it was discarded. One pasta dish was apparently good. My feedback was met with little more than a shrug. We paid and left. They’ve lost a regular tonight, I can get microwave meals at Tesco.”
