About The Pasta Factory
The Pasta Factory is an independent Italian restaurant at 77 Shudehill in Manchester, set up as a pastificio and the first of its traditional kind in the city. Fresh pasta is handmade daily, and the menu follows traditional Italian dishes with pasta at the centre. Focaccia and bread appear alongside the pasta, and tiramisu covers dessert. Specials of the day add variety, with squid ink bucatini and panna cotta with berry coulis among them. The team helps guests match food and wine, and tables can be booked in advance.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the tiramisu, with the pasta close behind, including a squid ink bucatini special and a light, fresh spinach ravioli. A simple green salad, a panna cotta with berry coulis and the bread also draw praise, and several call the food traditional and authentic Italian. The staff come up repeatedly as friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes, with one server in particular credited for helping match food and wine, splitting a bill and chatting with a solo diner. A few note the menu looks unfamiliar at first glance before turning out to be traditional dishes, and one says the room is quite noisy because of the echo. The one clearly negative visit came from a birthday meal: a long wait before drinks were taken despite booking well ahead, a charge for olive oil and balsamic with the focaccia, and a lasagna described as dry and tasteless, though the pesto pasta was good. Another reviewer praised being seated late when they were starving, with food arriving quickly.

“Staff excellent - especially George and Charlotte who made us feel very welcome and provided excellent service. At first glance, we weren’t sure about the menu as there didn’t seem to be anything on there straightforward but we and the kids recognised, but looking at each disc carefully, we actually found that they were traditional Italian dishes. The food was absolutely excellent. Not just the pasta but also worth trying the bread. The only downside was it’s quite noisy in there due to the echo.”

“We loved the pasta (special of the day - squid ink bucatini) and the tiramisu. Great atmosphere, good prices, and lovely staff (especially George was the star of the day). Will definitely be coming back! Highly recommended.”

“George was nice the perfect balance of good service and giving us space. Split the bill for us when we couldn’t quite work out the numbers boxed it off easily. Service was great and food came quick. They even took our table late which was appreciated as we were starving.”
