About My Karak Chai

My Karak Chai is a cafe on Wilbraham Rd in Manchester, at number 432, that builds its menu around karak chai. The tea is paired with a desi breakfast of parathas, halwa and chana, so a morning order has a ready partner for the drink. Keema toasties add a savoury option beyond the breakfast plates. An English breakfast is on the menu for anyone who wants a more familiar plate, and the kitchen also serves chips and a selection of desserts.

“I recently visited this restaurant and have also ordered from them several times, and every experience has been fantastic. Their Aloo Paratha is easily one of the best I’ve ever had fresh, flavourful, and perfectly cooked. I also tried the Anda Shami Burger, and it’s honestly one of the best in Manchester. It’s packed with flavour and made fresh to order. Their breakfast is outstanding, especially the Channa Naan, which is absolutely delicious and highly recommended. The quality of the food is consistently excellent, whether you dine in or order takeaway. A special mention to the young lady who served us she was incredibly kind, polite, and attentive. She understood our order perfectly, made sure everything was right, and provided excellent customer service with a warm and welcoming attitude. Overall, it’s a wonderful place with amazing food, great service, and a friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic, delicious food in Manchester. I’ll definitely be coming back!”

“Had an amazing meal here! The karak chai was rich, smooth, and full of flavour. The milkshake was thick, creamy, and perfectly sweet. The loaded chips were packed with toppings and tasted incredible, while the keema toastie was crispy, generously filled, and bursting with flavour. Even the pasta was delicious, with a great texture and well-balanced sauce. Everything was fresh, well-presented, and clearly made with care. Great food, great drinks, and a fantastic overall experience. Highly recommended!”

“Honestly, this paratha breakfast spot deserves a top rating. The parathas were perfectly cooked. Everything felt fresh and satisfying, just what you want in a proper breakfast. The service waa friendly too, which made the experience even better. Definitely a go-to place if you’re craving a good paratha breakfast!”

“The chai itself was incredible, rich, and full of flavor, but the real highlight for me was the desserts. They were honestly next-level—fresh, perfectly sweet, and the kind you keep thinking about long after you’ve left. What really made the visit stand out, though, was the customer service. Iza and Minahil were genuinely amazing—so friendly, attentive, and welcoming. They made sure everything was perfect and created such a warm, positive vibe. Easily a 10/10 for service.Overall, everything from the drinks to the desserts to the atmosphere was spot on. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone—definitely somewhere I’ll be coming back to again and again!”

“If you care about proper desi breakfast, this place gets it right: hot, flaky parathas, rich halwa, and chana and omelettes that actually have depth and flavor. The chai is the real deal — strong, milky, and brewed so well you’ll want a second cup before you’ve finished the first. What truly elevates the experience is the impeccable service, especially from Daaniya, who makes you feel genuinely welcome and looked after without being overbearing.”

Customer Review Summary

Karak chai is what reviewers raise most, called rich, smooth and strong, with one saying a second cup was ordered straight away. Close behind is the paratha breakfast, where diners praise hot, flaky parathas, the Aloo Paratha, Channa Naan, halwa and omelettes. The Anda Shami Burger, keema toastie, loaded chips and shakshuka also get named, and desserts such as the San Sebastián cheesecake, tiramisu and Matilda cake come up as delicious. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and welcoming, and one family mentions the kids enjoying Ludo. The main criticism comes from one detailed review: a Full English that was not hot enough, a toastie short on cheese, masala chips that tasted stale, and a Matilda cake that did not work. Complaints to the waiter brought thanks for the feedback and an offer to take the cake home, but no refund. Another reviewer notes the room runs a bit chilly.
