Customer Review Summary
The saffron Karak chai is what most reviewers return for, described as sweet, creamy and aromatic, with one drinker ordering a second cup and another buying it after a small taster at the till. The food sits close behind: the Bombay masala omelette, the butter chicken flatbread, Dynamite Chicken Momos lifted by their sauce, and an Old Fashion Desi Beef Burger with tender, juicy patties. Staff are repeatedly called friendly, with one explaining menu items and another considerate about dietary requirements. Several mention board games, a karrom board and a peaceful, cosy feel. The criticisms are about value and execution. One diner found the burger small, with fries bought separately. Another described the paneer foodles as quick-style Maggi noodles with visibly uncooked onions and tomatoes, and called the bill for two teas and that dish overpriced. A lemon meringue pie had congealed curd, and one visit was marked by loud shouting from the top floor. One reviewer still worked, took meetings and kept ordering saffron chai from morning until after four.

“We had a really nice experience today evening. Thank you so much specially Mrigranka , he mades us feel like home , its basically our to go place. Earlier, we were thinking about going somewhere else but the way he convinced and explained us about every food item and understood our preferences, he had us at that time. Lovely great experience!!! Thanks for hosting, really appreciated.”

“Visited today 15th May. We tried the paneer foodles which were actually quick style maggie tossed in hot water water and sauted in tomatoes and onions which are visibly uncooked and cheap. There was constant noise from the top floor and were loud and shouting We gad Zafran tea whicj was decent. Overall, £16.50 for 2 medium saffron teas and foodles is way overpriced. Not recommended.”

“Today, I spent the entire day in Filli Café, Rusholme, Manchester, from 9am through until after 4pm! I drank tea, had breakfast, worked on my laptop, took calls, had meetings, drank saffron chai, ate lunch, drank more saffron chai, and had a fab time! The patrons, Sister Rajji and Brother Larush, were absolutely delightful! Warm ,welcoming, they couldn’t do enough for me. I thought I was imposing, but they said I could stay until closing time if I wished. The place is clean, bathroom facilities are sound, and , most importantly, the food is DELICIOUS! The butter chicken flatbread is a specialty, as is the Zafran ( saffron) chai. Can’t fault them. Free wifi, plug sockets and USB ports everywhere, upstairs is open early in the afternoon too. One tip, make sure you have money to spend: not because it’s expensive, but because you’ll want to order everything on the menu! All the best Rajji and Larush, and thank you for looking after me! (BTW, there’s a prayer mat upstairs too if you are Muslim and need to pray! Amazing!)”

“7 star service by Rajji. I had the Bombay masala omelette and saffron Karak chai which was so good I had a second cup. Rajji was so considerate about my dietary requirements which I appreciated, and the food tasted amazing, it’s nothing like you can make at home. Rehana provided excellent customer service too, was happy to visit and will definitely be visiting again for the taste and peaceful environment. Theres also board games and a karrom board so looking forward to chilling out at Filli.”

“I don’t usually leave reviews, but this café genuinely deserves it. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere just feels right . calm, welcoming, and effortlessly cosy. The staff are so friendly without being over the top, and you can tell they actually care about what they’re doing. The drinks? Easily some of the best I’ve had, perfectly made and presented, not rushed at all. And the food was just as good, fresh, full of flavour, and clearly made with attention to detail. It’s one of those places you go to “just once” and then suddenly it becomes your go-to spot. Whether you’re catching up with friends or just need a quiet moment, this place does it all. Honestly, I couldn’t recommend it more 🤍”
