About Bean & Brush Art Cafe
Bean & Brush Art Cafe is a pottery-painting cafe at 51-52 Stanley Square in Sale, open daily and established in 2011. Visitors choose a piece to decorate, from plates and mugs among other items, then pick their paint colours and work with brushes and tips on hand. Finished pieces are glazed and fired, and ready to collect about a week later. Evening sessions are BYOB, with nibbles available to order, no studio fee and no time limit, so painters can work at their own pace. Tables can be booked in advance, including for afternoons and birthdays. The food and drinks menu includes mac and cheese, bagels and smoothies. The Metrolink station is a five-minute walk away.

Customer Review Summary
Painting pottery is the draw, and reviewers praise the wide choice of pieces, from plates and bowls to mugs, along with the range of paint colours and brushes. Families and friends describe an unrushed session, and a few single out the evening sessions as more relaxed than coming with the kids. Staff come up repeatedly as lovely and helpful, explaining how it works and checking in during the session. One reviewer describes staff helping press newborn twins' handprints onto mugs. Close behind is the food and drink, with smoothies, bagels, coffee and nibbles getting praise, and one diner notes staff accommodated a dietary request that was not on the menu. The main complaint comes from one reviewer who found the mac and cheese portion disappointing and the food overpriced for its quality, though the cakes looked promising to them. One reviewer recommends booking for a birthday to get a special gift. Several mention collecting their finished pieces a week later, and one still uses a bowl painted two years ago.

“Lovely experience and staff! Booked an afternoon table, staff were very friendly and welcoming, and explained the premise clearly and were really helpful! We had a great time painting and the atmosphere was lovely. Staff regularly checked in on us which was really nice. I ordered the mac and cheese and the wedges/chips. The portion size of the mac and cheese was pretty disappointing for the price we paid, the food we ordered seemed pretty overpriced for the quality/price. Great choice of cakes available and they looked really promising - sadly didn't get one!! Came a week later to pick our pottery up and we were super happy with the results! Thanks for a great experience!!”

“I came here with my husband, newborn twins and some friends on my birthday. It was such a great experience. They were really accommodating, giving us a table where we had plenty space for our double pram. The lovely staff also helped up get our babies' handprints onto mugs - the perfect birthday present for new Grandparents! There is a huge selection of items to decorate on offer and a nice variety of coloured paint available. The food and drinks were great too. Collection of our pottery was very easy and straightforward. All in all it was a great experience, we'll definitely be back!”
