About Vina Karaoke Bar
On Charlotte St in Manchester, Vina Karaoke Bar is a karaoke bar built around open-mic singing on a stage in the main bar room, so performers sing in front of the crowd rather than in private booths. Guests pick songs by scanning a QR code and entering their details, and their name and song appear on the screen when their turn comes. A DJ plays a song or two between karaoke turns. Cocktails are on the bar menu, and neon signs and lights decorate the room. Door staff check people in at the entrance, where a small door fee applies and guests get a hand stamp.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers split sharply on the singing itself. Fans describe a lively room where the crowd joins in, one recalling a rendition of Sex on Fire that the whole bar sang along to. Songs are picked by scanning a QR code and entering details, then the singer's name and song appear on screen, and the catalogue is called decent and varied. Neon signs and lights draw praise for the decor, bar staff are called friendly and helpful, and shots are poured generously into plastic glasses. A small door fee and reasonable drinks please some, though others call the drinks expensive and the staff indifferent. The main complaint is the queue. Critics say it is one karaoke song followed by one or two DJ tracks, waits run past an hour, and the DJ ignores people who ask. Even a happy regular accepts that a queued song may never be played when the place is packed.

“Bit embarrassing for the staff and security involved. As soon as you walk in the door you’re stamped like cattle and when you express that dissatisfaction the management are embarrassed to give their name. You then get shouted at in the middle of the street and treated horribly when we tried asking for a simple name. Awful experience and the bar and room stinks. Would avoid like the plaque.”

“Every single time I’ve been here over the years, they keep you waiting for over an hour and if you say anything they keep you waiting for another 40 minutes. This is not the first time I’ve felt like this. The bat staff are always good. The dj, however, make a point to ignore you and make you feel Like an inconvenience”

“Horrendous. Power Hungry bouncer who likes to try intimidating people. Touches people for no reason ( I was away from restricted areas like the bar and the door) and just placed his hand on me multiple times. He wants people to stand exactly where he wants you to, and instead of asking you to move he shouts and barges you with his body. He ruined our entire night and the vibe. If you scroll through the reviews you will notice that the “Bald Power hungry bouncer” is name dropped a couple of times. We left before our song even came on due to feeling uncomfortable with this member of staff. He shouldn’t be bouncer he doesn’t have the ability to controll his language and emotions, a very angry man.”

“Grabbed by a power hungry bouncer by the arm for holding a toilet door open while a space became available. Why not just say close the door please???? Paid a fiver in, had one drink left. Actually a decent place other than the absolute nugget with a badge acting the big man! 😏”

“It's not really a karaoke bar, they do one song of karaoke followed by 1-2 songs by a DJ, you'll be waiting around for hours before you get to do a song. The drinks are really expensive and the staff couldn't really give a toss, avoid.”
