Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the food as excellent, with the pork tenderloin in black pudding sauce, corn fed chicken, roasted hake, and meat and cheese platter repeatedly praised for quality and presentation. Several also highlight the friendly service and cosy atmosphere, with the beer garden noted as pleasant though one reviewer found it tatty. A few mention the good beer selection and dog-friendly policy. One reviewer reports halloumi fries as disappointing for the price, while another notes a fire alarm briefly delayed orders. The fresh interior and community feel are also frequently mentioned.

“Popped in on a Friday about 5:30pm, so wasn’t expecting it to be busy. First impression: smart restaurant layout and far too many staff. There were at least 8 serving staff wafting around, half of them on their phones. We went into the beer garden, which was pretty tatty (assuming that it’s next on the list for an update). We got a drink and the halloumi fries. Think the picture speaks for itself - these were £6.50”

“We had a very nice meal here last night celebrating our 57th wedding anniversary. The food was excellent, the service was to, and looked after by a very charming Greek man who was very friendly, polite and helpful. The food was excellent, presented well and almost too much to eat. Really recommend this to anyone. Definately will be visiting again when next in the area.”

“Just had the most amazing pork tenderloin in black pudding sauce. Partner had the chicken en croute. Great service by fantastic new owners, food was amazing, prices reasonable. 100% recommend. If you've not eaten here recently, you're missing out.”

How this listing is sourced
- Where the data comes from
- Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
- How it stays current
- Every listing is re-checked on a recurring crawl, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
- How it is ranked
- Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
