About The Greyhound
The Greyhound is a pub on Ashton Rd in Cirencester that welcomes dogs, with a special doggy menu so a pet can share the outing with its owners. Inside, open fires burn, and the bar carries a range of beer, cider and ales for anyone settling in. Food comes from the kitchen, and a specials board runs alongside it. A function room can be booked for parties, which gives groups a space of their own for a celebration.

Customer Review Summary
The recurring complaint is service on bank holidays. One reviewer found staff frosty and felt like an inconvenience, with four dishes sold out by 13:30 despite a booking. Another was spoken to as though they should have known food stopped at 2.30pm. Even so, the same reviews call it a lovely place with good food, and one diner was pleased when the kitchen added mash that was not on the menu.

“We went in as a central meeting point with a friend after attending an event locally. As we don't live locally we weren't aware that food stopped serving at 2.30pm on bank holidays - the barmaid spoke to us as though this was completely obvious and we should have known! Good play area for kids and variety of non alcoholic cold drinks available.”

“Really good food, well cooked and tasty. Definitely worth a visit. The Venison and bacon pie was outstanding and the veggies perfectly cooked. Lovely beer garden too.”

“Staff were really frosty which us a shame as its a lovely place and good food. We were made to feel like an inconvenience from the beginning. They were also out of four dishes which were all the ones I wanted and that was at 13:30 on a Bank holiday Friday -booked in.”

“This is one hell of a pub! Decor, fireplace, food and drinks all perfect! The welcome and service from David was excellent and he looked after us throughout our visit. Back to the food. I had Brill which was perfect with mash and capers. Mash was not on the menu but they obliged with no issue. We had the prawns which were perfect. Mussels too, spot on. Great value for money too and was delighted with the final bill. One of the best pubs I have experienced. Fantastic.”
