About The Potting Shed Pub
The Potting Shed Pub is a countryside gastropub in Malmesbury, with low ceiling beams running through the dining area. The kitchen serves pork belly as a Sunday roast with Yorkshire pudding and vegetables. Fish and chips comes with smashed peas, and a burger is also on the menu. Cauliflower cheese is available as a side. A tap selection covers the drinks, so a pint can sit alongside a meal. Dogs are welcome, which suits visitors travelling with a pet.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the pork belly, especially as a Sunday roast with Yorkshire pudding and plenty of vegetables, with one saying the portion was big enough to take leftovers home. The burger and cheeses also draw praise, and a few mention the fish and chips alongside cauliflower cheese and a side of vegetables. Service is a steady theme, with reviewers describing friendly, quick staff, one noting food arrived fast on a hot day and another that staff suggested a dish without yogurt when no vegan main was listed. Garden and outdoor seating get mentions, though shaded spots fill quickly. The main complaints concern value and consistency. One reviewer called a Caesar salad special a tiny portion of basic ingredients for the price, and another found the fish and chips heavily battered, oily and fishy, with limp, soggy chips, though the smashed peas and a sirloin with French fries were better. That same reviewer felt the busy dining room gave a cool welcome. One tall guest noted the low ceiling beams.

“We had a wonderful experience here! The restaurant has such an authentic atmosphere, and the traditional British food was absolutely delicious and beautifully cooked. What made the experience even more special was the service. All the ladies working there were incredibly kind, attentive and welcoming, always making sure everything was just right and doing so with a lovely smile. It is the kind of place that makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. A real taste of traditional English hospitality, and somewhere we would happily recommend to anyone visiting the area!”

“It was good, we had outside seating, there is small places outside with shade, though those are taken up quickly. The service was brilliant, it felt like time from order to our table was like 5 minutes, absolutely superb. On the day I visited (Monday) there wasn't a vegan main dish, but staff were helpful in suggesting a dish without yogurt 👌. Overall fantastic”

“Absolutely stunning dinner. I had the pork belly and my partner the fish and chips. Mote I also had a side of vegetables and cauliflower cheese. We were able to sit out in the garden as the weather was perfect too. Would highly recommend a visit as you will not be disappointed”
