Customer Review Summary
Diners return for the food, praised for its presentation and described as delicious, with a lamb dish called spectacular and an avocado mousse recommended by one reviewer. The flamboyant chocolate and coffee dessert and a ginger cake also get singled out, and one party found something wonderful for both carnivores and vegetarians. Close behind is the staff, described as friendly, welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. One coeliac diner says their dietary needs were handled without anyone batting an eyelid. The old school house setting, spread over several small floors, is called quirky and intimate. The criticisms are few but concrete. One reviewer says the many steps, including one down from the entrance, could be difficult for someone with limited mobility. Another feels some of the facilities could do with a spruce up, and a third finds the restaurant difficult to find. One reviewer notes that telling the restaurant in advance about a celebration brings an extra surprise to the table.

“It was a wonderful visit tonight (as it is everytime we visit!). We were welcomed in like old friends & chatted with the waitresses about our day and recent events. The food came quickly & my lamb that came highly recommended was spectacular! My parents also complimented their dishes as well and there is clearly someone who knows his stuff working hard preparing the food. Have always loved visiting & will definitely be back as we have never left disappointed!!”
