Customer Review Summary
Fish and chips draw the most comment, and reviewers split sharply on them. Supporters call the food tasty and great quality with big portions, and one family who preordered for a grandmother's birthday found everything packed and piping hot. Halloumi chunks are called delicious, and one reviewer names the curry sauce the best they have had, though another found it sweet. The chips are the recurring complaint, described as soggy, chewy, partly uncooked, hard and not traditional, or so dry the vinegar would not soak in. The fish gets mixed words too: fresh to one reviewer, bland in the batter to another, and drenched in oil to a third. One says portions were small, and another felt the cost was steep for the quality. One reviewer who cancelled a large order by email says nobody phoned them and they were still waiting on the refund.

“Came back to the British Chippy as they did an amazing job last year for my Grandmas birthday and they absolutely smashed it again! Preordered the day before, came down and it was all being packed ready for us so it was piping hot! The food was great quality, amazing portion sizes and the value was incredible! They went above and beyond for us and I would highly recommend them if you have a family get together or just want fish and chips on the evenings. You will not be disappointed!”

“Pros: big portion size, decent price and our food was served quickly Cons: the chips were a let down - they were hard and not ‘traditional’ chip shop chips, the fish batter didn’t have much flavour and the curry sauce was sweet”

“Lovely food with great customers service. Halloumi chunks are delicious. The best curry sauce I’ve ever had. Keep up the good work guys.”

“Best fish and chips in the area thank you”

“The service was great and open on a Sunday. It would have got 5 stars as the fish was fresh but the chips! - what a proper let down- portions small and so dry the vinegar didnt even penetrate the skin! Such a shame - " SALT" your chips out. Lol”
