Customer Review Summary

Pasta is what reviewers return for most, from the prawn-based pastas one regular orders repeatedly to the linguine marinara with king prawns and mussels, the penne arrabbiata with its lovely spice, a creamy pasta and the Tagliatelle Marinara. Close behind, diners praise the lobster dishes and Taglionni, and one mentions a crispy-crusted pizza with peppers and goats cheese. Portions are generally called generous, with big starters and good-sized mains, and staff are described as friendly and welcoming. Several mention the cosy, old-school feel and use the restaurant for birthdays and special occasions. The steak draws the sharpest complaint: one reviewer who asked for medium received it well done, tough and swimming in butter, while another praised a medium rare steak. Others note a slightly small pasta portion, a pizza with too much thick cheese, a linguine that needed extra salt, and one describes very slow service. One group booked at short notice had covers for 18 handled, and a dessert was flambeed at the table.

“The food was nice and reasonably priced, the starters were big and the mains were also a good size. Great value for money but the service was very slow was the only downside.”

“I have been going to La Favorita since 2011. Always been a very classic and cozy restaurant that has kept its quality and and quantity steady and good. They are the reason I first explored pasta and now love eating it. I forget to take photos as I jump to eat whatever I order however thanks to my husband Harry I have the prawn starter photo and it's tastes fresh and delicious. I always order various prawn based pastas which are impeccable and Harry has tried roast chicken and steak (medium rare which i have been told is hard to get it right) and along with sides like seasonal veggies and French fries. All have been on point. And customer service has been great and very gentlemanly... which I like the old school charm of the restaurant along with very Italian music too. All in all I go there whenever I crave Italian food. Spend quality time to celebrate occasions with close family and friends. Recommended.”

“I wish I saw the review of the steak before I ordered. Like the previous review, I asked for a medium and it came well done, it was tough and rough. The steak came to the table swimming in butter. Service wise, I gave it a 3 because the waiter obviously saw how much of the steak was left but did ask if the meal was ok. I appreciated he acknowledged my disappointment and still came with the bill with a smile. There was clearly no point asking and there’s no point having to tell either. The one star was for the chips which was nice. For £35 I’m not going to lose sleep over, it might be nice to someone who likes well done steak. Atmosphere was ok. It was a quiet night.”

“We enjoyed a very pleasant meal here. The staff were friendly and the restaurant felt intimate and cosy in its decor. We all very much enjoyed our meals, the pasta was creamy and warming and the pizza had a crispy crust and was topped generously with peppers and goats cheese. I felt that the portion size for my pasta was a little small (although perhaps I’m just greedy as my friends were perfectly satisfied with theirs), the pizza was good however, less cheese would have been preferred as it was very thick and a little over-powering.”
