About The Bulls Head East Leake

The Bulls Head East Leake is a village pub restaurant in Loughborough at 78 Main St, where foliage hangs from the ceiling at the entrance and in the dining area, with a large tree as the centrepiece. The kitchen makes pizzas from homemade dough baked in an imported Italian pizza oven, and it serves fish and chips alongside beer batter onion rings. Meals are served across separate dining areas, and reservations are required. Dogs are welcome. Payment and loyalty run through the pub's app, which returns a percentage of the bill as points.

Customer Review Summary

Diners most often point to generous portions, with the fish and chips, thick white fish in crispy batter, named most, alongside beer batter onion rings. Close behind are the homemade pizzas from the Italian oven, described as tasty and filling with a well cooked base, and a Chilled Schnitzel Salad topped with a perfectly poached egg. Cocktails and draft beer also earn praise. The setting draws repeated comment: foliage hangs from the ceiling, a large tree stands in the dining area, and several call the interior magical or stylish. Staff are described as friendly and helpful. The main complaints are about meat and timing. One couple found the beef stroganoff and another beef dish tough, calling meat a bit of a lottery, and one party with a booked table still waited well past their reservation. Another notes the pizzas arrive before the other mains. One diner with dietary requirements had a suitable meal suggested and cooked specially for him.

“A very uniquely decorated restaurant and we both like it. The service was good and found that having to pay via their app made it easy to finish the occasion off. The food came out as ordered, it was hot and tasted good and I believe it is fairly priced.”

“Food tasted great and portion sizes are huge. They have a pretty large parking lot too which was great as we were coming up from Leicester. Prices were reasonable too. However, we had booked a table but were still made to wait another 15-20 minutes which was a dampener. Staff were nice and friendly and the pub/restaurant looked great.”

“Food was lovely, so glad I ordered the cookie to be there for when we arrived too. Cocktails were brilliant and prices were great especially for drinks! Was really impressed and would travel the journey to come here again!”

“Absolutely lovely place. We stayed for a week at the alpaca farm, was told to try this pub. So glad we did! The food, cocktails, staff and decoration was great 🥰😍”

“Visited for the first time to attend a birthday party on Sunday. Nice village pub with excellent service and great sized food portions. The pizza I had was excellent, very tasty and filling with a really well cooked base. Draft beer was good. Really nice atmosphere, easy to talk and very stylish interiors.”
