Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the friendly staff and the homemade-tasting Italian food, with the pasta dishes Penne all'Arrabbiata and Penne Crema fungi named as cooked perfectly, rich and creamy. Close behind are the pizza and the coffee, which one reviewer calls cheaper than the big chains. Diners describe a cosy, relaxed atmosphere, and a couple mention live jazz or a sax player on their visits. Vegan-friendly options and generous portions at small prices come up too, and one theatre-goer says the food arrives hot every time. The main criticism concerns consistency: a repeat visitor says the portions shrank over the last two visits and that the garlic bread and pizza base tasted different, suspecting a change of chef. Another finds the tiramisu too wet, blaming too much coffee liquor, and one dislikes how the egg on a pizza looked. Several visits end on a personal touch, such as free garlic bread for a birthday or a staff member willingly boxing up a meal for someone feeling unwell.

“We usually visit Cafe Roma after visits to the Curve Theatre. We did so today and every time we've been it's been superb. The food is gorgeous (and hot!), service is always excellent and dad's Grappa is rather tasty (can I buy a bottle?) Thanks Cafe Roma, we'll be back. Oh, and the man on the sax was proper coool, sorry I didn't tell him.”

“Came here yesterday for a date night. I’ve never been here before but I certainly will be coming again because the atmosphere and the food were to die for. The live jazz music was the cherry on top, I honestly can’t fault it 🙌🏻🙌🏻”

“Just came here for my birthday and was taken back by how welcomed and looked after we were. The staff were amazingly friendly right from when we walked through the door and the food was out of this world. Very vegan friendly and we were kindly given free garlic bread for my birthday! Will definitely be coming back as the experience and quality of food was outstanding for the very small price that we paid.”
