Customer Review Summary
Pho is what most reviewers come back to, especially the beef pho, with one calling the classic version as good as those in Vietnam and another praising the rib eye beef pho. Close behind are the bun bo hue, described as perfectly spicy with plenty of beef, and the chicken curry with sticky rice. Starters draw praise too, including the fresh prawn summer rolls, spicy squid, salt and pepper squid and sweet and spicy chicken wings, though one diner preferred the squid over the spare ribs. The green papaya salad with prawns is called crunchy with a slightly sweet dressing. Portions are described as huge, and staff are called friendly and welcoming. The main caveats are cost and consistency. A few find it a little pricey, one says the flavours were good but not outstanding, and one found the pho noodles were the flat-less, rice-noodle type that would not soften or absorb the broth, so the beef and broth got lost. One group arriving near closing found two dishes unavailable, and one diner was asked about a student discount.

“Lovely family-owned Vietnamese restaurant with a great selection of flavour-packed dishes. We tried a variety of dishes, from the crispy starters and refreshing prawn summer rolls to the spicy Vietnamese noodle soup with slow-cooked beef. The sweet and spicy chicken wings are a must-try — sticky, juicy and full of flavour. Everything was really tasty, and the service was lovely and welcoming. Would definitely recommend giving this place a try!”

“One of the better Vietnamese restaurants in London. Their classic pho is a must try, I’d say it tastes like any good ones in Vietnam.”

“Cool venue and menu here with great selection. Staff awesome... Easy to choose menu and very tasty!!!! Interior was cool with warm minimal feel. Nice balance of spice flavours... vegetarian flavours easy to find - owner Jimmy was lovely and we had our lunch prior to jumping up our ladders and painting the new sign!”

“Pho at Bang Bang Vietnamese. A good pho is essentially a good broth, noodle and beef combined. At Pho the noodles were a bit inconsistent because on google maps for the same noodle pictures showed some where flat ones and some where the ones I had looking like Cambodian noodle. Unfortunately, the noodles on my visit were the latter which don't absorb the broth or soften so it is just like eating eating sweet rice noodles where you can't appreciate the broth and beef.”
