About Com Viet
Com Viet is a Vietnamese restaurant at 2-4 Garrick St in London, with its dining room in a brick-walled basement. The menu is built around noodle bowls and rice plates, so a meal can centre on beef pho or bun cha, or on a rice dish such as egg fried rice. Summer rolls and a Hà Nội prawn cake are on offer as starters to share. A lunch set menu pairs a starter with a main. The restaurant is walk-in. Charcoaled spare ribs are also on the menu for those who want a grilled main.

Customer Review Summary
Diners return most for the pho, with one calling it among the best bowls they have had in a while, and the beef pho is praised for tender beef and a flavourful broth. Close behind are the summer rolls, bun cha and chicken bun, plus shared starters where the charcoaled spare ribs, Hà Nội prawn cakes and grilled scallops stand out. Reviewers also single out tender stir fried beef, slow-cooked pork belly, and fried rice with eggs and garlic. The lunch set with a starter and a main is described as good value, and one vegan diner found it easy to have dishes made without meat. Staff are called welcoming and friendly, and one waiter had the kitchen swap in egg fried rice. The complaints are specific. One regular says takeaway portions were far smaller than dine-in, with the Saigon pork belly mostly fat. Another found the ribs a little dry, and a third felt the food was not fully authentic and wanted the Bahn Xeo served with different herbs. Downstairs is described as noisy enough to make conversation hard, though a longtime customer of over 20 years still comes before a show.

“Really enjoyed lunch here. We tried a few different dishes and everything came out fresh and full of flavour. The beef pho was really nice, with tender beef and a flavourful broth. I also really liked the chicken bun and the summer rolls. The slow-cooked pork belly was rich and tasty too. The ribs were flavourful, although they were a little dry for my taste. The £14.50 lunch set is good value for Central London, especially as you get a starter and a main. Would happily come back and try some of the other dishes.”

“We were a party of three and decided to order starters that we could all share and enjoy. We got Vietnamese spring rolls, charcoaled spare ribs and charcoaled chicken wings, Hà Nội Prawn Cake, Grilled Scallops, fried rice, stir fried rice noodles with mushrooms, and grilled scallops. The standouts were the spare ribs, the prawn cakes and the grilled scallops. The scallops were to die for! I can’t wait to visit again!”

“As per my friend’s recommendation, we tried Come Viet for authentic Vietnamese food, and it didn’t disappoint. The staff were very welcoming, and the restaurant had a great vibe. It was my first time trying summer rolls and bun cha, and I really enjoyed both dishes. The portion sizes were generous and reasonably priced, especially considering the location right in the heart of Central London, which was definitely a pleasant surprise. The food quality was excellent, and I’d happily visit again. My personal favourite was stir fried beef- very tender and nice flavours.”

“Just had one of the best bowls of pho I’ve had in a while. Great value for money, authentic Vietnamese flavours, and absolutely delicious. A special shout-out to Manu, who was friendly, funny, and provided excellent service. He made the whole dining experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!”

“Delicious Vietnamese food, very refined flavors. It’s a bit noises if your sitting downstairs. It’s quite hard to hold the conversation. Service is great really. We enjoyed our dishes, especially the fried rice with eggs and garlic.”
