Quick info
About Thai Tho
Thai Tho is a Thai restaurant at 20 High Street Wimbledon, in Wimbledon village, where tennis memorabilia and mementos of tennis players are displayed throughout the restaurant next to Thai wood carvings. The kitchen cooks classic curries, noodles and stir fries, with beef massaman curry among the curries. Starters include satay sticks and duck spring rolls, which suit a table sharing a few plates before the mains. A lunchtime meal deal gives a set option for midday visits, and tables can be booked for dinner. A separate vegan menu is available on request.

Customer Review Summary
Curries draw the most praise, from a rich, tasty red curry with pork to a green curry and a yummy curry at a restaurant reviewers note is run by Thai people. Close behind are the lunch specials, where a Pad Prik, corn fritters and noodle dishes are called fresh, quick and reasonably priced, and one reviewer suggests asking for the separate vegan menu. Staff are described as friendly and patient with a baby and restless children. The recurring complaint is portion size, with a few finding the curries and mains small for the cost. One diner found the beef massaman disappointing and the huge prawn toast short on flavour, though the satay sticks were nice. In another group, vegetarian mains arrived with egg despite a request for none, and the kitchen rectified it while the table waited. Tennis memorabilia fills the walls, and one diner remarks on rice served in a heart shape.

“Excellent Thai restaurant in the lovely village of Wimbledon. Great lunch specials. If you’re a tennis fan you’ll enjoy the mementos of tennis greats throughout the restaurant. Red curry pork was rich and tasty as was the brown rice. Note the heart shape of the rice. We’d go back in a heartbeat!”

“So good! Very delicious authentic Thai food (I lived in Thailand for 2 years). If you’re vegan, ask for the separate vegan menu. Lots of options, super fresh delicious ingredients. We got a noodle dish, the green curry, a soup and corn fritters and it came to £52 including service, so pretty reasonably priced too. Decor is very atmospheric with beautiful Thai wood carvings. Service was friendly, helpful and attentive with a warm welcome. Will definitely be back!”

“This is a good Thai restaurant in terms of the food flavour, had a variety of starters and mains all had nice taste, the mains portion sizes are on the small size for the curries, I was expecting more for price. The waitresses were patient and understanding as we had a baby with us, only issue was when some of the vegetarians mains came they had egg in it which we had requested whilst ordering to have no egg, they rectified this but did mean people in the group waiting whilst others had their food. Overall the food was good.”
