Customer Review Summary
Green curry draws the most praise, with one diner calling the prawn version the best she has had and another pairing it with the papaya salad, which comes close behind. Reviewers also single out the boat noodles, Khao Soi with braised beef, pad thai, and starters like sweetcorn fritters, fried tofu and garlic okra. Several call the flavours authentic, including diners who say they know Thailand. The separate vegetarian and vegan section and staff who took care of allergies get a mention, and service is described as friendly, attentive and cheerful. The criticism is less common but specific. One reviewer says quality has slipped, citing disappointing pork and prawn dim sum, an almost tasteless soft shell crab pad thai, a disappointing masaman curry, and a pineapple cocktail with barely anything in it, and also reports toilets needing cleaning. Another found the dumplings cold and the staff not very welcoming, and a third calls the food slightly expensive. One birthday table received a complimentary cake, while a table celebrating an engagement says nothing was acknowledged.

“This one is slightly hidden. We walked in without a reservation at 6pm on a Saturday and were happy to be seated in the main room. This is a great place. Food is awesome. Service is great - polite, prompt and cheerful. Ambience is great as well. We ordered the Khao Soi - braised beef, the steamed bass, papaya salad and calamari, and some coconut rice. Everything was exceptional. Note - we’ve been to Thailand. Patara got the flavors (most important thing for SE Asian food) right. Overall, highly recommended!”

“As a Thai person, I can confidently say that the boat noodles here are truly authentic. The broth was rich, deep, and full of flavor, exactly how it should taste. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a genuine Thai boat noodle dishes.”

“Patara in Oxford Circus was amazing. Truly authentic Thai cuisine served by Thai people with an athstetic reminiscent of our tine actually spent in Thailand. The food was extraordinary, a mixture of tantalising vegetables cooked to perfection and served in a beautiful sauce to pair with rice and noodle (beef, pork and chicken) combinations (Nam Tok). I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking the best Thai restaurant in London. 5 stars ⭐⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ !”

“The food in the place was really good. Although dumplings did come out cold. Everything was really tasty and the flavours were well balanced. I found the staff to be quite cold not very welcoming, the staff in the Soho branch were much more welcoming and had better hospitality in my opinion. I was disappointed because we were celebrating my cousin's engagement which was on the booking spent over £250 on food and there wasn't any basic congratulations gesture from the restaurant. Whereas the Soho branch which is now closed wished me a happy birthday, and brought me out a dessert on my birthday. Very basic gesture, there's no point asking if you are celebrating or if there's a special occasion then not doing anything.”
