About Busaba St Christopher's Place
Busaba St Christopher's Place is a Thai restaurant on Bird St in London, set in a dark wood room with dim lighting and long square communal tables, so groups share the space rather than sit apart. The Chilli Beef Jasmine Rice comes with minced beef and a runny fried egg. Pad Thai is made with chicken, and Sticky Mango Rice covers dessert. A pre-theatre menu of two dishes runs on set days, and a Busaba Express Lunch is offered on weekdays. The restaurant is close to Oxford Circus Tube Station, next to Selfridges.

Customer Review Summary
Pad Thai is the dish reviewers name most often, described as well balanced, with good wok flavour and not too greasy. Close behind are the chilli beef jasmine rice, spicy minced beef with a runny fried egg, and the Thai milk tea, which one reviewer found not overly sweet and another slightly on the sweeter end. Diners also single out the Songkhla beef, pandan chicken, Mussaman lamb shank, tom yum and the Guava Collins, called light and summery. The atmosphere is relaxed and cozy, with long shared tables and dim lighting, and service is described as quick and friendly even when busy. Several reviewers call the pre-theatre menu great value. The one lukewarm account found the food nice but nothing standout for flavour, with fairly average portions for London prices, though the breaded prawns and prawn crackers were crispy and enjoyable. Reviewers often finish with the mango sticky rice, warm and soft with a creamy coconut sauce.

“I had such a lovely dining experience here! The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was beautiful — stylish, vibrant and perfect for a date night or dinner with friends. I tried the Guava Collins, which was sweet, refreshing and packed with tropical flavours. The guava, kaffir lime leaf, lime and coconut worked really well together. For food, the Sikhrong Pork Riblets were tender and coated in a delicious sweet, tangy and slightly spicy BBQ marinade. The Chilli Beef Jasmine Rice was incredibly flavourful and especially satisfying if you enjoy dishes with a familiar Asian flavour profile. The highlight for me was definitely the Mussaman Lamb Shank. It was so tender that the meat practically fell apart, with a rich, slightly spicy and tangy sauce. The lamb was completely free of any gamey taste, and there was even bone marrow inside the bone — absolutely delicious! And don’t skip the Sticky Mango Rice. It was beautifully presented in two layers with a mango filling in the middle, alongside fresh mango and sesame. Such a lovely dessert to finish the meal. The Busaba Express Lunch (£13) and Pre-theatre menu (2 plates for £17) also make this a great-value option in London. Overall, a beautiful restaurant with great food, lovely service and a fantastic atmosphere. Would definitely come back!”

“Been here quite a few times now and it’s one of those places I keep coming back to. The food is consistently good, especially the Pad Thai, which is always well balanced and not too greasy. The satay is tender and the mango sticky rice is a solid dessert choice. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, great for casual meals with friends. Service is usually quick even when it’s busy. It’s not over-the-top fancy, but very reliable, which is why I keep returning.”

“The meat is cooked together with fresh leafy greens, and the seasoning is perfectly balanced. The light, fragrant leaves completely offset any heaviness from the meat. We ordered three meat dishes, but surprisingly, it didn’t feel greasy at all, everything tasted clean and comforting. Monisha was especially kind, patient, and friendly. As someone with a disability, I truly appreciated the care and understanding he showed. His patience and attentiveness made the whole experience even more meaningful. Highly recommend.”

“Had a great dining experience at Busaba Bangkok Thai. The food was delicious, especially the Pad Thai, egg fried rice, and tom yum (all packed with authentic flavors and cooked perfectly). The restaurant is conveniently located close to Oxford Circus Tube Station, making it an excellent option for lunch, dinner, or a quick meal while exploring central London (they have an express luch option for weekdays). The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming, providing a nice place to relax and enjoy good Thai food. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for tasty Thai cuisine in a convenient and cozy location.”

“Busaba is one of those places that feels perfect for a casual dinner with friends. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, with long shared tables and dim lighting that almost makes you forget you’re in London. We ordered a few dishes and honestly everything was really solid. The Pad Thai with Chicken had great wok flavour and a nice balance of sweet and tangy. The Chilli Beef Jasmine Rice was probably my favourite — spicy minced beef with a runny fried egg is always a good idea. The Som Tam Salad was super fresh and refreshing, especially alongside the richer dishes. Drinks were good too — the Thai Milk Tea wasn’t overly sweet, and the Guava Collins felt really light and summery. Definitely a place I’d come back to for comforting Thai food and good vibes.”
