About The Real Greek

The Real Greek is a Greek restaurant at 60-62 Long Acre in London, set in the theatre district. The menu centres on mezedes, small plates that the table shares, alongside traditional Greek dishes. Octopus, dolmades and a mixed plate are among the items on it. Pre-theatre dinner is a regular use, with groups arranging an early table before a show. Walk-ins without a reservation are also seated, and bookings can carry a note, such as a birthday celebration.

Customer Review Summary

Diners most often point to the service, with servers described as warm, welcoming, kind and patient, and one regular says a server recognised them and looked after them when the kitchen was about to close. The octopus is the most named dish, praised as outstanding, with the sea bream, prawns, dolmades, salad and mixed plate also mentioned. Reviewers like the sharing format and the orange cake and brownie, and call the food good value. One group had a dessert put on the house. Criticism is more mixed. One pre-theatre diner found the food standard chain fare despite fast, efficient service, and another felt it stayed within the lines without much innovation. A third said staff barely spoke to their table, skipped the birthday noted on the booking, and never offered more drinks when the carafe of sangria ran small. One reviewer found the tables small for the amount of food arriving.

“service and food was impeccable. we were greeted by Gerry, a cheery and quick witted server who admitted it was his first day but that did not hinder the perfect service he provided. next came a lovely Black server (whose name I unfortunately did not catch) who was accommodating to our tea requests and paid attention to detail! the sea bream, octopus, prawns and dolmades were all fresh and light. their orange cake was a hit with our party and their brownie was delicious too. lastly, Natalia was generous enough to have our dessert on the house even though we never had any problem and we had a great chat with her. the kind and witty staff was truly the highlight of the meal. cannot recommend this place enough!!!”

“Nice food. We went for the mixed plate. Al was perfect. Tables a bit on the small side because you get a lot of food 😌”

“We went there to eat with a group of five - without a reservation. We were greeted warmly and got a table very quick. The service was great, the food delicious, and the atmosphere was great too. What I personally really liked was the "sharing" concept. I would definitely come back 😊”

“When we arrived we were greeted by Sreeja, we were seated and told straight away the kitchen would be closing in 30 minites. We were very hungry and ordered straight away. Sreeja was very obliging and saw we were very well looked after. The other members of staff were also brilliant. We have visited this restaurant many times and Sreeja recognised us. The service, the food, in fact everything was fantastic as always. We will definitely be back and hope to see Sreeja next time we visit, she is so good at her job and nothing was too much trouble.”

“Toilet smelt so bad whilst we were eating our food. Service was fast but they didn’t really speak to us. We had a birthday in our group and they didn’t ask about it, but it was put on the booking notes. Overall food was lovely. But I just wish it was abit more like “can I get you some more drinks” since the crafte of sangria was so small. Very neglected.”
