Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise the sushi, calling it fresh, beautifully presented and full of flavour, with a Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian fusion they find creative. Close behind are the tuna tiradito, the edamame, the original roll and the cocktails. The setting earns repeated praise as stylish and beautiful, with an open kitchen and lively energy. Service divides reviewers. Some find it friendly and knowledgeable, while others report slow service on the patio, with long waits even for water, and one describes a server pushing unwanted items and giving dirty looks. Value draws criticism too. One reviewer felt the price of the Ultimate menu outran the service, and another says every plate arrived at once with no separation between starters and mains. One group that mentioned a birthday in advance received a tiny cupcake with a small Happy Birthday sign only after a second reminder.

“disappointing experience. we ordered good amount of food, while some of our group only had drinks, so I’m not sure why the staff were so judgmental. our server kept pushing things we didn’t want and giving us dirty looks, which made the experience uncomfortable. even the front-of-house staff weren’t particularly welcoming and were on their phones. for a restaurant that presents itself as high-end, the service and attention to detail just weren’t there. splashed water on us repeatedly every time our glasses were topped up, and staff serving with extremely long nails were quite surprising at this level. food was also very average and bland, especially for someone who has grown up with asian food and eaten at many places. for the prices they charge, it’s honestly ridiculous. we expected much better food, service, and overall experience.”

“My favourite sushi place in London! The first time I went I was apprehensive about the fusion but ever since I ate my first bite I’ve wanted to go back as much as i could. The interior is beautiful and the staff are friendly. I would recommend for any occasion (even a random walk in on the weekend).”

“I had such a phenominal afternoon at Sushi Samba! Service was so fast and professional, waiters were so knowledgable and helpful, and food was genuinely 10/10. Light, refreshing and delicious. Super unique flavours and combinations. Delicious cocktails. Couldn’t recommend it more :)”

“I enjoyed my recent visit to your restaurant. It was a fantastic experience, and I will certainly be recommending it to others for special occasions. The decor is truly impressive and sets a wonderful tone that is matched by the quality of the food and the excellent service. I was particularly impressed by the extensive and varied menu; the presentation of each dish was exceptional. The knowledgeable staff and the great atmosphere made the entire evening a dining delight. Thank you for providing such a memorable experience. I look forward to returning soon.”

“Visited SUSHISAMBA in Covent Garden and had the Ultimate menu. The food itself was really nice — full of flavour, well presented, and overall very enjoyable. There were some lovely dishes, and it was also nice having the open kitchen where you could watch the chefs cook, which added to the experience. The setting is beautiful, with nice views and a great atmosphere. The only let-down, in all honesty, was the service. For the price of the Ultimate menu, it feels like you’re paying top restaurant prices, but the service didn’t quite match that level. It wasn’t bad enough to ruin the evening, but it did take away from the overall experience. Overall, it’s a beautiful place with great food and I would go back, but next time I’d probably order dishes from the normal menu rather than doing the set menu.”
