About Lanes of London
Inside the Marriott Park Lane Hotel at 140 Park Ln, Lanes of London is a modern European restaurant and bar in London that opens daily. The Botanical Afternoon Tea comes with endless cups of tea and a glass of bubbles, and guests choose from several teas on a tea menu. Scones with cream and jam arrive alongside pastries and savouries, and a themed afternoon tea is also offered. Children receive a goodie bag with the tea. Breakfast is served too, with halloumi mash and green juice among the dishes, and beef sliders sit on the menu for guests who want something heartier. The kitchen sources its ingredients responsibly, and the restaurant runs all-day dining beyond breakfast and afternoon tea.

Customer Review Summary
Afternoon tea draws most reviewers, especially the Botanical Afternoon Tea, with its pastries described as beautiful and like mini pieces of art. Diners single out the duck terrine with orange jelly, the rhubarb and honey panna cotta, a themed children's tea with a goodie bag, and the choice of several teas, including a flowering tea and jasmine scones. Service earns repeated praise, with servers guiding tea choices and one arranging a birthday dessert. Outside afternoon tea, one family praised the fish and chips, crab cakes, ribeye and sticky toffee pudding, and a breakfast guest liked the halloumi mash and green juice. Criticism is smaller but specific. One reviewer found the scones closer to cake, another thought the sweets too sweet with too much chocolate, and a late-evening diner was unhappy with a server who could not describe the beef sliders or the whiskeys for an old fashioned, then disliked the mayo on them. That diner's wife fell asleep waiting to pay. One afternoon tea guest asked to take home leftover jasmine scones and was given a carry box.

“We had a lovely time at Lanes of London. The breakfast was nice and I really liked their Halloumi mash and Green juice. The service was excellent which made the breakfast comfortable and pleasant. Thank you to Vivian for the excellent and kind service.”

“Afternoon Tea at Lanes of London is worth a stop - it’s a great value for what you get. The scones were not what we expected (more of a cake consistency), but the Botanical Afternoon Tea has some beautiful pastries. We weren’t able to finish all of the food, you get a pretty big portion. Service was great, appreciated the birthday dessert!”

“Wouldn’t be fair to give the Chefs a poor score as we did not try much. We stopped in for a small bite around 9pm. We decided on beef sliders and asked the server what was on them he responded with “they are just little hamburgers”, I told him we understood what a slider was we wanted to ascertain what was on them (cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo with a seasoned patty for those wondering). He stated it was just beef again with “maybe” some tomatoes 🤦♂️. Ok good and well we will just pick off what we do not like, unfortunately there is no picking off disgusting mayo. Only other gripe(s) would be the server not knowing the whiskeys available for an old fashioned and the fact I’m writing this review after my wife has already left for the room as she was falling asleep waiting to pay.”

“Vivian was very nice and welcoming. The whole experience was amazing thanks to the service as well. Savory food were great but sweets are a bit too sweet and too much chocolate. It would be great with some cheesecake or other varieties. Overall lovely!”

“The Marriott Park Lanes is opulent and beautiful, in a wonderfully prestigious and surprisingly peaceful part of central London .We were welcomed by a lovely team in The Lanes, who were very friendly and attentive .Vivian and the team guided us expertly through the proceeding for our Botanical Afternoon Tea. We had bubbles and endless cups of various teas to accompany our botanical sweet treats and savouries, which were both delicious and mini pieces of art work (congratulations to the chefs!) there was more than enough to eat. We asked to take home the remaining Jasmine scones, cream and jam and Elvi/Evie presented us with a lovely carry box to take away with us. Thank you all!”
