Customer Review Summary
Curries draw the most comment, and opinion splits sharply. Fans single out the chicken tikka masala and lamb korma, a tangy, spicy chicken jalfrezi and a richly spiced chana bhuna. Lamb biryani, mixed grills, tandoori lamb chops and tender chicken tikka come close behind, with onion bhajis also praised. Others report the opposite: a korma so runny it was almost liquid, a tikka masala sauce with no cream or tomato taste, an overly thick saag, and prawns that were hard in two separate reviews. A returning regular says portions shrank and the ginger chicken curry recipe changed. The atmosphere is called lively, and some servers are described as friendly. Reviewers also mention repeated requests for water, unwelcoming men at the counter, and a large party hit with an unannounced service charge and then rushed out. One diner asked for chapattis with no butter and received them dripping with butter, and they were replaced while the curries went cold.

“Fairly average south Asian food. Restaurant is incredibly busy (great for the business of course) so you basically sit on the same table as all other guests. Clearly a place they want to get you in and out. Very fairly priced though and the onion bhaji's were great!”

“We visited Lahore Karahi yesterday after a long time. This restaurant used to be our regular. However, we were extremely disapponted with the quality of food! The portion sizes were much smaller than they used to be.We ordered 5 curries, 1 of them ginger chicken curry. This used to be our favourite regular dish which we used to order. However they had changed the recipe! It was an orangy runny sauce and tasted horrible! The prawn curry was horrible, prawns hard and runny orange sauce. We ordered 4 chappatis and specifically said no butter and yet they turned up dripping with butter! I told them to replace them and we had to wait 10 mins for them to arrive and in the meantine our food was getting cold! My husband had to ask 5 times for water! My friend had to keep chasing up his 7up and instead got sparkling water! The restaurant wasnt even busy! When we got the bill they tried to charge for the sparkling water which was a cheek! Unfortunately, we will not be going back there! What a huge disappointment from what used to be our favourite restaurant.”

“This place is the OG in Tooting. Used to be my go to when living in London, now must-visit when I’m back from Australia. Curries are amazing and decently spiced (chicken tikka masala and lamb korma STAND OUTS). Lamb biryani and mixed grills are superb Manager is a gem and is warm and friendly I’ve been to Michelin star Indian/Pakistani in London and for price/taste this place is unbeatable”

“Visited Lahore Karahi Tooting with 9 people on 23/05/2026. We brought our own alcohol, so we expected some corkage. We were charged £16 corkage for 5 people unbelievable , but the 10% “Large Party” service charge of £19.26 was added without any notice before or during the meal. For a group booking, this should be made clear upfront so customers can decide. After we paid, we were still sitting chatting for a bit, but staff started clearing plates and turned off the air conditioner while we were still there. It felt rushed and unwelcoming. For a group booking, all charges should be made clear upfront. The food was fine, but the lack of transparency and the way we were rushed out left a bad impression.”

“Very disappointed with the quality of the food delivered. The korma was so runny it was almost liquid, while the saag was overly thick and lacked balance. The prawns were hard and clearly overcooked. The peshwari naans were thin, dry, and had very little filling. Overall, the meal did not live up to expectations and was poor value for money. (Take away - £78 for 3 persons)”

Good to know
“Established in 1995, Lahore Karahi is a family-run restaurant serving authentic Pakistani cuisine. Despite the complexity of our dishes, our recipe for a great evening is simple: mouth-watering food, a lively atmosphere and close friends. Because we don’t just want to make great curry, no – we want our food to bring people together. And we think it does. When you come to Lahore Karahi on any given evening, you’ll hear friends laughing, glasses clinking and food sizzling. For us, that’s mission accomplished. If that sounds like your kind of evening, then you know where to find us. When it comes to London curry houses, our name has been dropped in a number of top-ten lists (a top-five too, actually).”
