About JEUX JEUX okonomiyaki restaurant
JEUX JEUX okonomiyaki restaurant is a Japanese restaurant at 3 Belvedere Rd in London, near the London Eye and Waterloo. It brings Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki to the city for the first time, built with noodles, so diners can try that regional version without leaving London. The cooking happens on a teppan in view of the dining room, and a teppanyaki table gives guests a place to sit and watch. Okonomiyaki is the main dish, offered in several meat and seafood versions, including wagyu, and the special version is topped with a duck egg. Tamagoyaki, with a cheese option, is a common side to share alongside it. The dessert list includes hojicha ice cream, made with Japanese tea.

Customer Review Summary
Eel okonomiyaki is the dish reviewers raise most, described as crispy outside and tender inside, with noodles, runny egg and rich sauce. Close behind are the Hiroshima-style pancakes with noodles, the wagyu version that one reviewer says melts in the mouth, and the shrimp and squid versions. Fried oysters, fried chicken and cheese tamagoyaki come up as sides, and desserts such as mango parfait, hojicha ice cream and Swiss roll get praise. Several enjoy watching the food cooked on the teppan in the open kitchen, and staff are repeatedly called friendly. The caveats are mostly about service and logistics. One reviewer found the okonomiyaki missing its bacon, with no apology and a plate of steak arriving as an unexplained substitute. Another waited about half an hour, though staff had warned of it, and found the flavour a little light. That reviewer also reports a broken lift at the building and the restaurant, so the pram was carried up with staff help.

“A lovely lunch spot for authentic okonomyaki. The restaurant is quiet and lovely, staff were friendly. The resto itself is children friendly, they have 2 high chairs. We had 4 babies and staff were really good. Lift was broken however, both outside building and inside restaurant, so we had to carry the pram up with staff help. Food was good portions and decent taste, if not a bit light on flavour. I had squid okonomyaki and there were plenty of squid added. They do make the food in open which was a feast to watch, but we did wait about 30' which they did warn us about and we were okay with that. I would come again but not in a rush/office lunch.”

“Ate here in November 2024. The restaurant has a huge, open layout that connects directly to the National Theatre structure, which gives it a really cool vibe. I was looking for authentic okonomiyaki in London, and the flavors here were completely spot-on. The food tasted totally authentic. We did have an odd experience with the service, though. The kitchen forgot to put bacon in our okonomiyaki. No one apologized or even mentioned the mistake to us. Instead, they just brought out a plate of steak alongside the meal. We actually had to figure out on our own that the steak was a substitute for the missing bacon. The staff were very friendly otherwise, and the steak was a nice gesture that we appreciated, even if the communication was a bit strange. It's a great spot for authentic okonomiyaki if you're hanging around the South Bank.”

“Jeux Jeux is a unique and fun Japanese restaurant. You can sit and watch your food being cooked on the teppan. We watched how creative our eel okonomiyaki was made, our okonomiyaki was absolutely delicious, the eel, noodles, egg and sauce combinations is tasty. The crispy fried chicken is delicious and full of flavour. Tamagoyaki and the rice and noodle meals taste very good, I highly recommend all these meals my friend and I had. Staff are friendly, service is very good.”

“We had a great meal at Jeux Jeux Restaurant. For our main dishes, we ordered the special chicken okonomiyaki and the beef okonomiyaki. Both were flavorful and packed with toppings. For sides, I had the deep-fried chicken, My boyfriend ordered the eggs, which complemented the meal nicely and were cooked well. To finish, we shared the mango parfait, and it was the perfect dessert. The mango was sweet and fresh, and the combination of textures made it light, refreshing, and a great way to end the meal. Overall, the food was delicious, the portions were satisfying, and we really enjoyed our dining experience.”

“Okonomiyaki 🦐 Hiroshima-Style – Classic base with pork, shrimp & squid. Richer flavor; mix sauce well or filling may be plain and pancake too heavy. 🐟 Special Grilled Eel – Whole eel inside, lighter taste, springy texture – great for eel fans. Sides 🥚 Cheese Dashimaki – Fluffy egg roll with stretchy melted cheese. 🦪 Fried Oysters – Crisp outside, meaty inside; best with okonomiyaki sauce. Desserts 🍰 Swiss Roll – Soft sponge with smooth, dense cream. 🍨 Hojicha Ice Cream – Cuts through greasiness; rich tea flavor with a light bitter finish.”
