Customer Review Summary

Two detailed negative reviews describe a very different experience. One reports a reverse balayage that left hair dark brunette with lighter ends, dye on the forehead and ears, no check-ins while the colour developed, and a charge of over three hundred pounds that was disputed. The other reports a blunt clipper cut that ignored a reference photo for soft layers, a long wait before starting, a walk-in taken mid-appointment, dye left on the face, an Olaplex treatment added without consent and an undeducted deposit. That reviewer received a refund after days of arguing by text.

“Had such a great experience with Hairmett! I got a non-bleach balayage done and I’m honestly so happy with the results. The colour came out beautifully and blended so naturally while still keeping my hair healthy. The whole experience was lovely from start to finish and you can really tell the care and attention that goes into the work. Would definitely recommend!”

“I’ve been going to Ozzy for many, many years, and he is truly the only person I trust with my hair. As someone with South Asian hair, finding a stylist who understands both texture and color is rare and Ozzy is the only one who has ever been able to take my hair from dark to blonde while keeping it healthy. I still go to him to this day. His skill, consistency, and attention to detail are unmatched, and I always leave feeling confident. If you’re looking for a hairdresser you can trust long-term. Highly recommend.”

“I got my hair done by Ozzy a week ago and I couldn’t be happier! He did a brilliant job, definitely better than what I expected!🩷”

“Been seeing Ozzy for almost one year now- he’s super friendly and always sees me on time. Ozzy has helped me to get my hair a healthier condition and is always honest when it needs a rest from bleach. Previously in other salons, people have just taken my money and not turned me away which resulted in broken and dry hair. He explained carefully when light blonde was unachievable (because of previous black box dye in my hair) and has helped me take steps to get to the colour I want. Another stylist in the past just let me believe they can achieve the colour which left me disappointed afterwards. I love his honesty as he always prioritises my hair health rather than pushing me into services. Also, I wouldn’t go anywhere else because no one can blend hair the way he does for my balayage!”

“I went to this salon for a dye and a haircut from Ozzy. I showed him a clear photo of a soft U-shaped cut with subtle layers and explained that I wanted to keep my length and only refresh the shape. My hair was almost waist length. I waited around thirty to forty minutes before he even started, and throughout the appointment he repeatedly paused and even accepted a walk-in client while doing my hair. The service felt rushed and disorganised from the beginning. Despite seeing the reference photo and agreeing to the plan, he used clippers and gave me a blunt cut that looked nothing like what I asked for. After the appointment, when I raised my concerns, he sent me unintelligible dismissive responses saying I dont know what i’m talking about and nothing I said made sense, even saying “whatever” at one point. At no point before cutting did he explain that he wasn’t able to achieve the shape apart from afterwards when he sent me conflicting responses of apparently I said no layers- which must have been another client he was flitting between. He also said it was my fault he had take on another client because he thought I was coming back for a balayage as I asked him about a current offer, so he had to fill his time somehow??? I also left the salon with hair dye still visible on the side of my face. I have coloured my own hair at home and have never walked out with dye on my skin. Also when I paid, the total was three hundred pounds. Later, after asking for a price breakdown, I realised two issues: • My £50 deposit was never deducted. • An Olaplex treatment was added without my consent, even though I did not request it. Previously he had told me Olaplex was only compulsory with balayage, which I did not have. When I questioned the price, he sent me a screenshot of the price he had sent when I had gotten a balayage and trim from him previously which didn’t apply to current situation so I sent him a screenshot back of where he stated this in his full price breakdown. I asked for a refund for the haircut. Instead of resolving the situation professionally, he argued with me for days over text. He repeatedly contradicted what I said and refused to acknowledge anything, even when I sent comparison photos. He offered to “fix it,” but he wouldn’t give me an appropriate time, and after showing my hair to multiple people including a family member hairdresser who lives abroad, everyone strongly advised me not to go back. Eventually, after days of back-and-forth, I received the refund but had to endure his rudeness and constant change of excuses. I’ve attached side-by-side photos of the inspiration image and how my hair looked immediately after the cut when I got home and checked it. The difference speaks for itself. After this experience, I genuinely feel the salon should be embarrassed to have someone representing them who speaks to customers that way and handles mistakes with defensiveness instead of professionalism. I can also back this up with screenshots of the conversation before I blocked him if he does try and refute anything i’ve said. I would not recommend this salon. Update: Thanks Nico for that super helpful response!! Please kindly remind the people you hire to properly charge people and if they see dye on someone’s face let their customers know they are able to remove it. I can see others have complained about Ozzy on here too so i’ll leave it at that.”
