About Westland Coffee & Wine
Westland Coffee & Wine is a small coffee shop in London, set on a cobbled side street off the main road at 1 Westland Pl. Coffee comes from a La Marzocco machine, with flat whites and cortados on the menu and Oatly milk available. Sandwiches and soups are made in house, and the pastry selection includes a croissant and a chocolate and pistachio pastry. Downstairs, a basement space hosts wine tastings and workshops, and a choir group uses it to practice, so the shop serves as a gathering place as well as a stop for a coffee. The same space can be hired for product launches and filming. The wine and beer list draws on bottles from around the world.

Customer Review Summary
Coffee is the draw, with the flat white named most often. One reviewer praised it made with Oatly milk, while another found it could have been stronger and served in a smaller cup. A vanilla latte, a full bodied cortado described as a drop over extracted, and a dark roast brewed on a La Marzocco also earn mentions. Close behind are the homemade sandwiches, called to die for by a weekly regular, and a chocolate and pistachio pastry served with a mocha that one reviewer found good value. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly, cheerful and accommodating, and several reviewers prefer the place to the nearby chains. The main criticism comes from one reviewer who found a 9am croissant not fresh and the prices on the high side. The small, rustic space also hosts a choir that practises in the basement, where a group of ten filled it.

“As a member of a choir some of us meet here to practice in the basement, we socialise before an after. It is small very rustic but a very pleasant experience. The staff are very helpful and friendly there's a good selection of wines and beaverages though I have not eaten here it all looked good. There is also free Wi-Fi though parking difficult unless your already in Hackney. I do recommend this coffee/wine shop though bare in mind I was in a group of 10 people and we filled it. Brilliant if looking to escape the busil of London for a while.”

“I’ve been visiting this cafe every week since about 6 months now and it’s my go-to for coffee and brunch. Their sandwiches are to die for! I especially love the coffee - I usually get a vanilla latte - and it’s one of the best coffees I’ve had in London, one that suits my preferences. The staff is so sweet and accommodating as well. It’s quickly become one of my favourite spots to chill in the city.”

“Best value coffee of anywhere in Shoreditch, and one of the originals from way back before the hipsters arrived. Tucked away in a cobbled side street, this little gaff is a quiet and unique, unlike the dime a dozen replicant boutique chains elsewhere nearby. The coffee is on the dark side, which is fine for me, and brewed out of a La Marzocco, which is always a sign of goodness. Definitely worth a try at least once.”

“Chilled environment off the busy road and coffee was suitably artisan....though it could have been a bit stronger as the flat white should have been in a smaller cup. Downstairs looks like they may run events/workshops and this is where the toilets are so not an accessible space. The toilets would benefit from some TLC and the light wasn't working on our visit.”
