Quick info
About Goswell Road Coffee
On Goswell Rd., Goswell Road Coffee is a coffee shop built around a bike store, with high ceilings and mismatched, comfy seating filling the rest of the room. The menu runs from a matcha latte and pumpkin spice latte to strawberry hot chocolate, alongside baked goods, vegan options, and protein shakes that can be customized with ingredient substitutions. Music plays throughout the space, varying with whoever is working, and the decor leans grunge and eclectic, with physical newspapers on hand and merch for sale. It opens daily and takes walk-ins rather than bookings. A step-free, wheelchair-accessible entrance welcomes visitors with mobility needs, and dogs are welcome throughout. WiFi is available on site for anyone settling in with a laptop.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return most for the music, with several praising playlists that shift depending on who is working and include tracks they rarely hear elsewhere, such as VKEI and Miku, while baristas are seen singing along at the counter. Coffee comes close behind, described as seriously good, alongside a matcha latte, a strawberry hot chocolate, a pumpkin spice latte and protein shakes made with flexible ingredients. One reviewer calls the banana cake soft, moist and not too sweet, and another mentions baked goods and vegan food. Diners describe a relaxed, fun, chilled atmosphere with comfy mismatched furniture, cool decor, mugs and a strong merch selection. Friendly service is a steady theme, including one reviewer who says the baristas handled allergies and intolerances exactly as asked. The main caveats are volume, with two reviewers saying the music could be lower, and one who calls the place a little expensive. One reviewer adds that staff will turn the volume down if asked, and another says the manager gives hugs to those who need one.

“Very Seattle sort of place. Cross between 90s grunge with touches such as physical newspaper, and modern political slogans. Matcha latte was delicious. Comfy seats.”

“Had a coffee here today, it was good and really nice and warm. Cool decor, food looked good, though I didn't have any. I'll come back for sure. A lot of cool merch. The music volume could do with being a little lower, but still, 5-stars.”

“I genuinely love coming here for the atmosphere. The baristas are incredible and funny (while still maintaining professionalism - I’ve never had problem communicating my allergies and intolerances. I always get exactly what I ask for), the coffee still tastes amazing and makes me happy (it’s been around 5 years!), and last but not least THE MUSIC IS INCREDIBLE!!! I genuinely love that they play pieces you usually don’t hear in other establishments. I found myself both Shazam-ing tracks and crying over songs I haven’t heard in some time. It’s stunning to look over at the counter and see a bunch of baristas singing along and actually enjoying themselves. As a member of university music staff and a music lover/ musician, I appreciate that many times I hear smaller bands and musicians that don’t get the recognition they deserve. I can only hope that more places start playing music which actually represents the beautiful diversity that can be found within “unusual” genres.”

“Great coffee shop, good WiFi, deli options, and friendly service. My gf and I were craving some protein shakes and they were so tasty! They are very flexible with ingredients as well”
