About The Fleet Street Press

The Fleet Street Press is a coffee shop and roastery on Fleet St in London, open daily for walk-in visits during the daytime. Its walls display London Press Photographers' works, which are available for sale alongside the coffee. The ground floor offers a narrow seating layout, while a basement area adds sofas, armchairs, and round tables with outlets nearby. A small library area lets customers bring and leave their own books. Beans come from the Press Coffee & Co Roastery, with the flat white and latte among the regular orders, and free WiFi is available on request for the code. Beans are also sold to take home for those who want to continue brewing the same roast elsewhere.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often return for the flat white and other espresso drinks, praising the smooth texture, perfect foam and latte art, with an oat milk flat white, an almond milk cappuccino and an iced americano with lingering sweetness named along the way. Close behind is the friendly staff, with one reviewer noting a barista who explained the beans. Baked goods also earn mentions, including lamington cakes described as the size of a baseball and pastries called delicious. The long, narrow ground floor looks cramped and dim to some, but the downstairs basement has plenty of tables, outlets, sofas and armchairs, and a small book library. Complaints are few but specific. One reviewer asked for a regular and received a small, yet was charged for the larger size. Another found the latte big but not intense, and a third wished the chai had been served hotter. A few call it a little pricey, and one reviewer says to watch the size of your drink when picking it up.

“I just paid £3.30 for a croissant. It was extremely disappointing, very tough, no taste, had a different taste. Not buttery at all”

“High quality coffee and absolutely delicious pastries. Minus first floor reminds of an old cabinet. There is also a small library. You can bring and leave there your own books or read what they’ve got. Occasionally some people doing “quest around London” will pop in and look for clues, lol The stuff is nice and polite, however keep an eye on the size of your drink when you are picking it up.”
  • Nina Beilby
“Great stop for a coffee. I tried the Tumeric Latte this time and it was great. I'll pop back soon for a regular coffee and let you know. The service was excellent.”
