Customer Review Summary

Coffee draws the most praise, described as specialty, brilliant and superb, along with a dirty chai and a matcha that one reviewer calls the best they have tried, not watered down. Food sits close behind: the avocado and halloumi roll with chipotle mayo, almond milk porridge, Birchers muesli and banana bread each earn a mention, as does the Vital Verde juice. Reviewers describe friendly service and a quiet, calm, relaxed atmosphere in the mornings, and several say they return while shopping for engagement and wedding rings nearby. Criticism is limited but specific. One reviewer found the peas toast served cold, and another expected two eggs on the avocado toast after paying extra for an additional poached egg, though they found it poached to perfection. One reviewer also reports that a male waiter aggressively ordered them to leave even though they wanted to order, and describes the treatment as discriminatory. One first-time visitor was given four free stamps toward a free coffee.

“Formal Report / Complaint to Manager Date: 15 July 2026 Time of incident: Approximately [add time e.g. 2:30 PM] Location: [Add name of café, if you know it] Staff member involved: Male, English waiter (did not give his name) To the Café Manager, I am writing to formally report extremely unacceptable, rude and discriminatory behaviour I experienced at your café today, and to ask that you look into this matter properly. When I entered your premises, I intended to sit down and order food and drinks as a customer. I had only just sat down when this male waiter came over and told me in an aggressive tone: “Get up and get out of here – you cannot sit here.” I asked him for a clear reason, and explained that I was ready to place an order and pay for my meal. He then replied very rudely, shouting at me: “Even if you order something, you still cannot sit here – this place is only for customers.” This statement makes no sense at all, and was delivered in a confrontational, hostile way. When I asked him again why I was being treated like this, he became even more aggressive, used abusive language towards me, and repeatedly ordered me to leave immediately, saying again that I was not allowed to stay even if I wanted to buy something from your café. I was not given any explanation for this unfair treatment. I was not behaving badly, I was not loud, and I had done nothing wrong. I only wanted to use your café as a paying customer, but I was spoken to with total disrespect, aggression and unprofessionalism that no one should ever have to face. This kind of behaviour from your staff is completely against how any customer should be treated, and damages your café’s reputation entirely. I ask that you investigate this incident properly, take the right action with the staff member involved, and make sure this never happens to anyone else. I am happy to give more details if you need them. I’m really unhappy and I will never go back to this place in my life 😤”

“Great specialty coffee, delicious food, and fresh natural juices. I had the Vital Verde juice, which was refreshing and excellent, and the avocado & halloumi roll was absolutely delicious. The chipotle mayo gave it a great kick and brought all the flavors together. This is a great spot for brunch or just a quick coffee. The staff was friendly, and even the music selection added to the relaxed atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!”

“Such a lovely little find! We have been sure to visit each time we have come to Hatton Gardens for our wedding ring appointments as its such a delight. Food, coffee and matcha are 11/10 and the service too! We are always surprised to see how empty it is when we come in the mornings, but it suits us as we love a calm and quite place to eat. Recommend to all of our "to-be-weds" if they head that way for their rings. 💙”

“Brilliant coffee and such friendly service. Our 2nd time here, the first was buying my fiancés engagement ring and we had to come back now we're buying the wedding rings around the corner. The coffee is superb, how coffee should be. We'll be back yearly & whenever we can. Highly recommend.”
