Customer Review Summary
Coffee draws most of the praise, led by a good oat flat white, with a V60 that one reviewer calls acceptable though not among the best and a matcha latte that wasn't too sweet. Close behind are the baked goods: lamingtons described as fresh and light, with good jam and icing that isn't too sweet, plus a canele and a coconut and strawberry cake called the highlight of one visit. Staff are often called friendly, and one tea drinker says they remember an order exactly. The complaints are specific. One reviewer received an iced flat white that was mostly milk and describes the counter response as rude when it was raised. Another says a server shared personal stories at top volume in the small shop. Others report a queue with no direction causing chaos indoors and outside, beans that were average for lattes, and pastries that were old. One reviewer says the wait comes from care taken over each coffee, and another was told "of course" when asking for an iced chocolate drink that wasn't on the board.

“As a non-coffee drinker, I only drink tea, and the staff always remember exactly how I like it — my 50/50! That’s exactly what you want from a great local coffee shop. Great staff, lovely vibe and amazing drinks. Always a pleasure coming here.”

“A long queue should never automatically be mistaken for high quality. Popularity and hype do not necessarily mean good coffee, good service, or professionalism—and unfortunately, this café is a clear example of that. Anyone who regularly drinks coffee and orders different types of coffee understands the basic distinctions between them. I ordered an Iced Flat White, yet what I received was essentially milk with only the faintest trace of coffee. When I raised the issue, the mistake was acknowledged, but the way it was handled was equally disappointing. The woman behind the counter, wearing glasses and with shaggy hair, was extremely rude, disrespectful, discourteous, and unprofessional in the way she dealt with me. When a customer raises a legitimate concern about the quality of a product, respectful and professional treatment should be the most basic standard of any business. In my view, a business is not simply about having customers walk in, pay money, and walk out. That alone does not constitute a successful business. A genuine business is a two-way transaction: the customer pays for a product and, in return, should receive quality, proper service, and an experience that reflects what they have paid for. Taking someone’s money without delivering an appropriate level of quality and service is not, in itself, a sign of a successful business. For a café in Chelsea, I expected considerably higher standards of both coffee quality and customer service. A good business should prioritise two things above all else: the quality of its product and the way it treats its customers. Ultimately, I would not recommend this café at all. If someone is happy to pay a premium for an experience that looks impressive on the surface but delivers disappointing quality in return, then perhaps this is the place for them—particularly in Chelsea, where you would expect considerably higher standards. My experience with the woman behind the counter only reinforced that impression. A long queue may indicate popularity, but it should never be confused with quality. In this case, unfortunately, the hype and popularity appear to be far greater than the actual standard of the coffee and the service.”

“Well priced decent coffee on the beautiful Pavillion Rd. Friendly efficient service, although one time I was there the girl serving was basically sharing her whole personal life at top volume, so every customer would have heard (or wanted earplugs!), in an otherwise small and quiet shop. Not very professional and it went on for so long it slightly spoiled an otherwise nice (and frequent customer) experience.”

“Truly lovely. A neat little shop with a clearly marked entrance and exit. The staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. To me it's the sign of a place where people actually care about their coffee when you can ask for what you'd like, even if it's not strictly on the menu. The response to 'can I have an iced flat white and an iced something chocolate' was 'of course!'. Even though neither of those were listed on the board. We had a Lamington and it was the fluffy, light and with a generous helping of (good) jam. So good. All in all, great, in a place where it's not easy to find a good non-chain coffee shop. As an aside, I have no idea why Google seems to be surfacing the more negative reviews, when they have 4.4 stars (at time of reviewing) which is way better than pretty much anywhere else nearby.”
