Customer Review Summary

Wontons come up most, called phenomenal and to die for, though one reviewer wanted a more aggressive spicy punch in the house special sauce. Close behind are the tofu fried rice, Salt and Pepper Tofu, Sizzling Tofu in Black Bean Sauce and a Peking Duck with convincing mock meat. The chick'n sweetcorn soup, fried oyster mushrooms and a dumpling starter also earn praise. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly, attentive and helpful with the menu, and the room as calm and very clean. The complaints are specific. One reviewer says service vanished once the food arrived, so extra drinks were impossible and the bill meant walking to the counter, and found the asparagus portion halved. Another ordered three dishes with similar chili oil sauces, found them oily and questioned the value. One suggests booking in advance. A diner with a peanut allergy says staff were conscious of it, and another had a server walk through the allergens item by item.

“This restaurant was fantastic! All of our dishes were incredibly tasty, and the service was very quick and friendly. Our server recommended a dumpling dish as a starter that ended up being my favorite part of the meal! They were also very conscious of my peanut allergy, which I appreciated. I will definitely be coming back here again.”

“As a regular patron of the Golders Green branch, I visited the Gloucester Road location to test their consistency. From a culinary standpoint, the kitchen largely delivers the same high-level plant-based execution, though front-of-house operations need tightening. A quick logistical note for drivers: if you visit on a Sunday, there is ample free parking in the immediate surrounding area, making it a highly accessible weekend option. The food was largely exceptional. The Salt and Pepper Tofu was perfectly crisp and excellently seasoned. The Peking Duck hit the exact mark—flawless texture on the mock meat and wraps that were perfectly balanced (neither too dry nor too moist). Even as a late addition to the order, the Sizzling Tofu in Black Bean Sauce was a standout, boasting perfect aroma, flavor, and texture. The Wonton in House Special Sauce was highly enjoyable, though the flavor profile could benefit from a slightly more aggressive, spicy punch. There were, however, two notable operational misses. First, while the Hot and Fragrant Asparagus maintained its usual excellent flavor and texture, the portion size appeared to be halved compared to standard expectations. Second, the table management broke down entirely mid-meal. While staff were friendly and attentive upon arrival, they effectively abandoned the floor once the food was delivered. It became impossible to order additional drinks, ultimately forcing me to leave the table and approach the counter just to request the bill. A strong culinary showing with elite vegan flavor profiles, slightly let down by inconsistent portioning and inattentive mid-meal service. Still highly recommended for the food alone.”

“I like the concept and was very interested to try all these vegan foods! We followed the waiter's recommendation and ended up ordering three dishes that had very similar sauces, chili oil. It was good, but maybe one or two less oily choices could have been better. Food was tasty, but I'm not sure if it was good value for the money. Waiters were really friendly and attentive, though!”
