Customer Review Summary
Soups draw the most specific praise, with the hot and sour soup and the crab and corn soup both singled out, the latter as a sign the kitchen takes the cuisine seriously. Close behind are the spring rolls, called a standout, along with sweet and sour prawns, seafood XO with a smoky sauce, laksa with prawn and fish cake, and beef rib eye stir fried with hor fun noodles. Pan fried chicken and chive dumplings and a mango passion cocktail also earn praise, and several describe attentive, friendly service. The complaints concern pacing and expectations. Two reviewers waited a while at the start, one of them to place an order. Another found the Shanghai chilli chicken short on spice, one noted that cocktails arrived blended without the list saying so, and one called the dishes small portions. A three-star diner found the food okay but not as good as hoped. One reviewer suggests booking a table ahead because it was busy. Reviewers also mention a hot towel brought after the meal and a tempura plate made with shrimp on request.

“Hello! London is best known for eating other culinary than the English one, and so I went with my family to this Chinese restaurant. I was expecting more from it, the food was okay but was not as good as I hoped for, and please return with the fried ice cream!”

“What a classy meal we had at the Good Earth! Service was incredibly attentive and the food was excellent. I had the mango passion cocktail which was so wonderfully sweet yet balanced. I will say the cocktail list does not elaborate which drinks are blended or not. I had checked the reviews prior to arriving so I knew what to expect but the table next to me did not and were a little surprised when their cocktails were blended. The Pan fried chicken and chive dumplings were wonderful! I had the Shanghai Chilli chicken and it was very good! I was expecting more spice but the only spice you get is when you bite into a chili. I believe my mother got the tangerine karrage chicken which she enjoyed. The atmosphere was so peaceful and quiet and it was overall a lovely evening”

“Lovely restaurant with delicious food at very reasonable prices. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it a great place for families. During our visit, several families were celebrating birthdays, and there was such a festive mood that I almost felt like declaring my own birthday too! If you're looking for a family-friendly venue with great food and a lively atmosphere, this is definitely worth a visit. And yes, it's a wonderful place to celebrate a birthday.”

“we were recommended to try the laksa, which came in a big bowl including seafood (prawn, fish cake, half a boiled egg) in a well seasoned sauce. the beef rib eye stir fried with hor fun noodles was especially good as usually stringy beef is used for stir fry. 20 pounds for each of these dishes.”

“Very attentive staff, every dish was delicious, and perfectly conditioned air (a godsend with this heatwave).”
