Customer Review Summary
Breakfast is the main draw at The Manor Cafe, with reviewers describing a traditional, hearty plate in decent portions and good value, alongside good coffee. Close behind, the halloumi wraps and Liver & Bacon earn praise from a regular of around five years, who also mentions a very large menu. Several note quick, piping hot food and waitresses who clear and wipe tables as soon as people leave, and one family-friendly visit ended with free drinks after a slow breakfast. Complaints centre on service and a few dishes. One reviewer says a good morning to the counter went unacknowledged, and another describes a staff member who seemed frustrated over a simple order modification, followed by an owner reply that felt defensive. A panini drew a sharp complaint for a piece of frozen chicken and a smear of green pesto. Others wish for a different bread choice with the English breakfast, refurbished toilets, and better tea bags like Yorkshire tea. One reviewer cautions that local parking restrictions apply on weekday mornings.

“Lovely cafe, lovely food, lovely waitresses. Shame they didn’t spend a bit of money refurbishing the toilets and they need to use better tea bags like Yorkshire tea. Simple improvements go a long way.”

“I had a very disappointing experience at Manor Coffee. The service was poor from the start, especially due to a misunderstanding with a staff member who seemed confused about a simple modification to my order. Instead of trying to clarify politely, she appeared frustrated and struggled to communicate effectively, which made the situation uncomfortable. What made things worse was the response from the owner. Rather than addressing the issue professionally, the reply came across as defensive and argumentative. It felt like customer concerns were dismissed instead of taken seriously. Overall, the combination of poor service, lack of understanding from the modifiedgirl, and unprofessional handling of feedback made this a negative experience. I wouldn’t recommend this place based on how the situation was handled.”

“Popped in early morning with family before attending a funeral. We had driven 2 hours and wanted a quick breakfast. Food was fantastic, coffee was good. Good value for money and exactly what we needed. Highly recommend.”

“I recently visited the cafe, and once again, the food was absolutely lovely and high quality—that is the consistent draw that keeps me coming back. However, I did have a disappointing experience with the service at the counter this morning. Upon entering, I offered a friendly "Good morning" to the staff member, but the greeting was not acknowledged. Instead, I was met with silence and a direct stare that indicated they were only waiting for my order. Overall, I highly recommend the cafe for its excellent product. A touch of friendliness would elevate the entire customer experience!”
