Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often come for the ham and cheese omelette, praised as a favourite and "delightful" in one version with spinach, mushrooms and ham. Close behind are the French patisserie style cakes, including an eclair, a pistachio delight cake and croissants, along with good coffee, a mocha and an iced latte. Several describe friendly, helpful staff, and one praises a quick pastry order for a work meeting that was ready on time. Seating is plentiful, though the cafe gets packed at weekends and lunch. The complaints are specific. One diner found the lasagne and full breakfast lacking seasoning and the tiramisu disappointing. Another reported a lukewarm full breakfast, a savoury crepe that came out sweet, spilled orange juice left on the floor, and an unlisted extra charge for a poached egg. Others mention rude or impersonal staff when busy, a counter system that doesn't work well, and coffee prices that aren't brilliant. One reviewer left a coffee and salmon bagel feeling welcomed, after watching staff patiently train a new colleague.

“I recently ordered several boxes of assorted pastries from Le Delice Ladywell for a work breakfast meeting, and the experience was great from start to finish. Karine was very helpful from my first email, responding quickly and making the ordering process straightforward and stress-free. The pastries were ready on time, beautifully presented, and carefully packed for collection. Everything went smoothly, and the service was professional throughout. The pastries themselves were fresh, delicious, and enjoyed by everyone at the meeting. Thank you to Karine and the team at Le Delice. I would happily recommend them and would order from them again. 😊”

“I don’t leave reviews but this is worth doing so. Popped in for a quick coffee and a salmon beagle while waiting for a train. I was welcomed with a smile by two members of staff. Then the interaction while ordering my coffee and food was smooth, calm, friendly. While enjoying my coffee I was observing how the staff is genuine nice to guests and kids and colleagues. The vibe is very community feeling. It seems to be a new employee, and colleagues are guiding him with kindness on how to serve things and what to do, as part of his training. This is just lovely and rare to see this in a hospitality setting lately. Thank you for a lovely morning!”

“I love this cafe!! I’m here ALL THE TIME!! Food is great, coffee is great. Prices aren’t brilliant coffee wise. They could do with a regular/locals discount like Oscar’s. Plus in the summer when they open the big windows, I would recommend closing the side closest to Ladywell station and having that be the smoking area. I always try to sit away from the windows when I come as I don’t want the smoke getting inside, but this way people can comfortably smoke and there’d be no risk of it getting inside. Definitely some staffing issues, when busy there should be 1 manning the register, 1 doing food, 1 or 2 doing coffee, 1 or 2 on the floor. Generally this is a wonderful cafe, sometimes the staff can be a bit rude and impersonal but that may be due to management and feeling stressed. The food and selection is brilliant!!”

“I was really excited to try out this cafe for the first time after a well earned walk. The atmosphere was comfy and welcoming, a nice space to catch up with family or friends. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing I can comment on that I was disappointed on was the food. The food looked great but it didn't quite match the taste. I had a lasagne and it was really lacking flavour and seasoning, my other half had a full breakfast and again it just didn't taste as good as it looked and lacked seasoning. I then thought to try the bakery as they all looked amazing! I had a terimisu, unfortunately it was far from a terimisu and didn't taste that nice. I had high hopes for the place, but maybe it was a one off?”

“Lovely cafe. A wide selection of French patisserie style cakes. Lots of different styles, as well as baked goods like cookies, muffins and croissants. Have a selection of teas, milkshakes and soft drinks. The staff are really friendly, helpful and attentive. Has gluten free and vegan options. It cost £8 for an eclair and an iced latte, both were tasty and fresh. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. My friend and I were catching up and sat a while past finishing our drinks but didn’t feel rushed, paid up front. A nice grown up place I would say caters for adults not children’s taste in sweet treats - lots of duos meeting for coffee and cake. Nice to meet for a non bar based hang.”
