About Scootercaffe
Scootercaffe is a cafe bar near Waterloo station at 132 Lower Marsh in London. It opened in 2000 as a vintage scooter specialist and now roasts its own coffee and bakes its own sourdough for the toasties it serves. The roast goes into the flat whites, and hot chocolate, cakes and pastries sit alongside them. By day it works as a cafe, and by night it turns into a bar with cocktails, including spicy margaritas, plus beers and wine. It stays open late for anyone after a night-time drink or coffee. A jazz trio plays live on one evening, and the vintage-style decor gives the room an eclectic look. Seating is communal in feel, and dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the coffee, with one noting it is roasted in house and another singling out a well made flat white, all in a vintage, cozy room. Close behind are the cocktails, where the spicy margaritas and a caipirinha are named, while the cheesy toasties, a hot chocolate and the green tea each earn individual praise. Staff are described as friendly and cheery, and the eclectic decor and atmosphere come up repeatedly. The complaints are specific. One long-time regular found a Negroni, Whisky Sour, Amaretto Sour and Old Fashioned all tasting the same and watered down, served in thick-rimmed canteen-style glasses by bar staff with a bad attitude. Others mention that it is dark when first walking in and can be hard to get a seat. One morning visitor sat through a fire alarm blaring while the person at the counter tried to disable it. One evening visitor wandered in after hearing a jazz trio of bass, organ and violin.

“Probably the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had. The atmosphere was cozy for a rainy day, the decor is unmatched for an excellent little coffee shop, and again, the hot chocolate was absolutely to die for. I’d go here again every time I visit London just for the hot chocolate. Very conveniently located as well close to Waterloo station.”

“Had a singular small glass of red wine in here last night and it sent me into top 10 hangovers of my life. Idk whether it’s been open for a while or it’s simply a very cheap bottle, but I don’t believe a £7 glass of vino should send one into a poisoning-like recovery the next day. I hope the management looks into their assortment .”

“Just a neat little place to get away from it all, be it shopping, touring or just walking around. Staff was very friendly and the selection of drinks and food were very good. Plenty of seating which offers an opportunity to sit and talk to different people from different areas of the world. We spent a pleasant afternoon with a gentleman named Robin who was very helpful to 2 very weary travelers looking for helpful suggestions in tackling visiting London.”

“A lovely caffé bar in Waterloo, Lower Marsh area, with a good selection of cocktails, beers, coffee and hot drinks too... Beautiful eclectic decor, relaxed, charming!. Got in, attracted by the jazz music being played by a trio of bass, organ and violin... So nice! We only stopped for a drink after a long day and dinner on a Sunday evening (10 May 2026) - a delicious kaipirinha and a rare Mexican beer... A short walk from our hotel Ruby Lucy. Lovely friendly service by the charming staff! We'll definitely come back next time we're in London. Keep it beautiful!”
