About LIFT COFFEE
LIFT COFFEE is a cafe at 133 Kensington Church St in London, where the basement seats are wood logs and the walls double as coffee tables. Downstairs holds more tables than the ground floor, and an exposed staircase leads down to it, in keeping with the industrial-style decor. The coffee menu runs to several espresso options and V60 pour-over, and matcha lattes sit alongside it for those who want something else. Lemon poppy seed cake is one of the bakes on offer. The cafe opens daily and runs daytime hours only.

Customer Review Summary
Coffee is the main draw, from a washed Colombia V60 with notes of honey and tea to a funky, fruity double shot, plus a house blend and a flat white with the right texture. Matcha comes close behind, called soft and not grassy, served as a latte or alongside the lemon poppy seed cake, and one reviewer took staff's suggestion of the coffee walnut cake. Several describe the downstairs as cozy, with log seats and dimmed lighting, and the staff as friendly. Complaints centre on food and space. A ham and cheese sandwich seemed simple, and one reviewer wished it and the chocolate banana bread had been warmed, while another found the banana bread not that good. One calls the place messy and poorly arranged, and one gave poor marks to the service and an unbalanced coffee. One regular has made it a go-to since 2022 and sits on the bench outside to people-watch.

“Lift Coffee was amazing! 🌱🪵The service was excellent, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. I even came back later to work on my laptop, and they made me feel comfortable staying for a while. The drinks were great, I especially loved the matcha, which paired perfectly with the lemon poppy seed cake. It was absolutely delicious! The prices are also very reasonable, making it great value for the quality. I’ll definitely be back and would happily recommend Lift Coffee to others.”

“My go-to café since 2022, just around the corner from my flat. The coffee is excellent every time. I love the cozy downstairs space on days when I want to work from a café, and the bench outside is the perfect spot to sit and people-watch on a sunny morning after a run in the park.”

“Great beans, well brewed and excellent service. I had the 059 Pepe Jijon Florcita (Ecuador) and a Peruvian coffee that I did not note the name of, but I actually enjoyed even more. I also had a pesto and mozzarella panini which was fine, but I'm not really reviewing that as I was here for the coffee. I'll definitely come back when I'm back in London, but I also have another place to order coffee from to brew at home.”

“Visited this cafe on Monday and had a wonderful experience! The atmosphere inside is incredibly cozy and comfortable - a perfect place to relax. The staff were super nice and friendly. Following their recommendation, I tried the coffee walnut cake, and it was absolutely delicious! I also ordered a matcha latte, which was prepared perfectly and tasted amazing. I’m already looking forward to my next visit to try their other cakes. Highly recommended:)”
