About TAB X TAB

TAB X TAB is a cafe in London at 14-16 Westbourne Grove, where pour over coffee comes with a small glass of ground beans to smell and a card citing the bean origin. That pairing lets guests see where the coffee comes from before the first sip. The kitchen serves brunch, and the Eggs Benedict comes in salmon and avocado versions, each served with a salad. Grilled halloumi arrives with poached eggs and chili oil. For drinks beyond coffee, the Hojicha latte sits alongside a cocktail list. Baked goods round out the counter for anyone stopping in between meals.

Customer Review Summary

Scrambled eggs with creamy mushroom on toast is the dish reviewers raise most, called rich and beautifully presented, and the reason several plan to return. Close behind are the grilled halloumi with poached eggs and the French toast, with its brioche and poached pear. Eggs Benedict and banana bread also draw praise, though one reviewer ranks the salmon version last of the dishes tried. Drinks get named too, including a hojicha latte with latte art, matcha with honey, and a pour over served with ground beans to smell. Complaints are small but specific: bread described as hard and difficult to cut, a cheese that was too salty, and a space small enough that one reviewer suggests booking in advance. Staff are described as friendly and attentive even when busy, and one reviewer who emailed the manager about a problem on a first visit says it was taken care of immediately.

“I had a really nice experience overall 🌿 The halloumi with poached eggs was delicious and well-balanced, and the quality of the ingredients really stood out. However, the bread was quite hard and a bit difficult to cut, which slightly affected the experience. On the other hand, the matcha with honey was amazing — light, smooth, and perfectly sweet 🍯✨ Overall, a lovely visit, and with a small improvement, it could be even better.”

“It’s not really a café to stay long as the space is quite small and tables are needed for other customers. I recommend booking in advance if you plan to visit. The hojicha was excellent with very professional latte art, and overall the food was great—everything is highly recommended. I would definitely return.”
