About Canela Espresso Bar
Canela Espresso Bar is a cafe at 93 Snowsfields in London, close to Guy's Hospital and south of London Bridge. The kitchen serves breakfast, brunch and lunch, so the food runs from morning plates through to a midday meal. The breakfast side centres on a full English fry-up, and meat and potato empanadas are served alongside it, so a single order can bring a British breakfast together with a pastry. Sandwiches fill out the rest of the food, among them a bacon sandwich with red sauce.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return mostly for the cooked breakfasts and sandwiches, with the bacon sandwich with red sauce and the club sandwich cut into little triangles named most specifically. Several describe an authentic English breakfast and a decent fry-up alongside European-style lunches, and one points to the meat and potato empanadas. Generous portions at reasonable prices come up repeatedly, and hospital workers and passers-by alike mention friendly, warm staff and a fresh, prompt kitchen. Coffee is called good and large. The main complaint is about baked goods: one reviewer found the almond croissant had been sitting out for a while and suggested ordering a hot meal or sandwich instead. A couple of reviewers also wish it opened on weekends. Seating is available inside and outside, and one reviewer describes the whole place as an honest London cafe, with a smile from the person behind the counter on every visit.

“The area just south of London Bridge by Guy’s hospital is like a little village, with its corner shops, local pubs and cafés such as the Canela Espresso Bar. They do a variety of breakfasts, brunches and lunches, but are closed in the evenings. It’s not expensive, the portions aren’t mean and the staff are friendly. You can sit inside or out and watch the world go by. November time, you might even see some pretty nurses selling poppies from a tray.”

It didn't take long close to Guys Hospital was this delightful cafe, very friendly staff, good value for money and a decent breakfast. Would search you out if in this area again.”
