  “I come to this pub quite often and we were there with friends watching the World Cup match (England vs Croatia). We had made a reservation and ordered a lot of food and drinks and we were polite and respectful to everyone throughout the evening. However the manager with straight reddish hair who was wearing a football top that night was incredibly rude to us. She came straight over to our group and accused us of vaping saying she could smell it. Her tone was very condescending and it left a bad impression. Even the unknown couple behind us commented on how rude she was. I was offended but I usually let things go. Throughout the rest of the night she seemed irritated and did not smile once. Every interaction felt cold and as if she had an issue with us specifically. In contrast I was served at the bar by a Ukrainian staff member who was the complete opposite. She was warm, friendly and welcoming and we had a lovely chat. I fully understand that rules need to be enforced but it is important to speak to people with respect when doing so and not let frustration come through in the way you treat customers. I’ve never given a bad review before but I was really has unhappy with the treatment especially since it’s a pub we frequently go to.”

  “Location top notch as just outside St Pauls. Service really good, i wasnt happy with my food and they changed it with no fuss and gave me a large glass of rose on the house. I was really impressed by this. Too many Tvs but they are on mute so you dont notice them after you sit down. Pretty good value too, given location. Well done, a pub as it should be.”

  “🚇 Blackfriars 🍺 £7.50 Estrella Galicia Ye Olde London sits in the shadow of St Paul’s Cathedral in the City of London. The nearest Tube is Blackfriars. The pub traces its origins back to the 1730s. Before this, the site was occupied by the London Coffee House. The coffee house closed in 1867, after which the site became a pub known as Ye Olde London. This is a traditionally decorated two-bar pub set over two floors. The ground floor bar has the servery on the right, with a raised seating area by the window and poser tables in the middle and along the side. The space is dominated by huge bannisters leading down to the basement. The basement bar is considerably larger than the ground floor, with a long servery on the left, a few snugs on the right, and a raised dining area at the rear. This bar also boasts a pool table, which is a rare find in the City. To the side of the pool table is a secret beer garden with plenty of seating. There are some nice decorative features throughout, such as the parquet floor, the wall panelling, historical photos, and not forgetting the impressive bannisters. The beer selection has a line-up of premium lagers, familiar favourites, and cask ales. I decided on an Estrella Galicia. My pint was great, price point was as expected. The food menu consists of a mix of small plates, a range of burgers, and pub classics. Fish and chips costs £18.25, and roasts are available on Sundays. I arrived at 11.30am on a mild Saturday morning in March. The pub had just opened and was initially quiet but soon had a steady stream of punters who were out and about exploring the area. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed, so settling in was easy. The service was first class, I had a lovely chat with the team members on duty, both were friendly and personable and clearly passionate about their pub. The pub shows live sport on Sky Sports and TNT. The historic location, traditional pub setting, an enjoyable pint and fantastic hospitality all made for a top notch pub experience. 📅 7th March 2026”

  “Walk-in turkey Christmas dinner and ginger no-jito, all enjoyed in a secluded spot away from more raucous party-goers. Best turkey I have ever had. Delicious vegetables and Yorkshire pud. Friendly and kind staff.”

  “What a great pub! Barry, the bartender, was friendly and incredibly accommodating with an allergy. The food was delicious and the beer was even better! Our party had some BLTs and the Harrisa Houmous flatbread and it was SO good! Only visiting London for a short time, but I would highly recommend this to anyone!”

  “Spacious and excellent food. Most pubs we checked out in the area are small but this place is spacious and had good seating spots. We tried their fish appetizers, sausages, and flat iron steak with peppercorn sauce. All were to our liking. Definitely recommend especially if you are new to the area. Good for family and groups. Glad to find this gem.”

  “fish & chips and secret garden. Classic pub. The place was recommended and its fine recommendation. Lower floor has a secret garden and the pool table (billiards) The food is delicious: the porción was huge, the fish was tasty and looks like home potatoes! with poor service. Update: general manager contacted me to ask more details about our experience and apologize for a service (I marked 3of 5*) and to change our experience and make it better invited us to visit again and enjoy the free dinner. It’s wow, to pay so much attention for a short comment, that the entire customer experience matters in this place. Applause 👏🏻”
