About The Hanbury
The Hanbury is a pub in Islington, London, at 33 Linton St, opposite Arlington Square on the corner with Mary Street. Rooms sit above the bar, so the pub can serve as a base for an overnight stay, and a gin making machine runs inside the pub itself. The kitchen cooks a Sunday roast with pork belly and roast potatoes. Football plays on a big screen. The dining area takes function and party bookings for groups, with a media system available, and space at the bar can be booked ahead for birthday drinks. The pub is open daily.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise the food and friendly staff, with the Sunday roast the standout: the pork belly is called delicious, and reviewers like the roasties and good gravy. Close behind is the welcoming pub feel, along with a quirky gin making machine. Groups report hot food for a work Christmas party of 45 and a function for 50 with the menu exactly as agreed. Guests in the rooms upstairs call them lovely and clean, though one found the thermostat left the room slightly cold. The recurring complaint is noise. Two guests describe loud music from the pub below, one kept awake for many hours and resorting to ear plugs, the other moving rooms the first night and finding the music turned down only briefly after ringing down.

“A splendid local pub with delicious food and friendly staff. Celebrated informal birthday drinks and they let me book space on the bar area ahead of time and were very welcoming. I would happily make it my local if I lived closer.”

“This is a great pub, with a quirky gin making machine. The Sunday roast was amazing, fantasic roasties and good gravy. Everything was reasonably priced and the service was good. The staff were polite. I shall definitely be returning.”

“The rooms are lovely but the pub downstairs is sooo noisy until gone 11pm every weeknight. I had to move rooms the first night due to the noise and then rang down and asked for the music to be turned down at 10:30pm the second night - which they did for 10 minutes. Wouldn’t stay here again unless you’re up late and not up early for work!”
