  “Excellent mellow neighborhood pub with a good selection of beers and drinks and cider and wine, as well as a very good and well thought out menu. Love having this in our area. Service is polite and helpful and we've loved the three meals we've had there. Of course they have gold burgers and chips, but they have excellent entrees like steaks, as well as some tasty and sometimes lightly spicy dishes that really stand out. Thanks!”

  “Amazing place. The drinks are reasonable and the venue is very ambient. Al on the bar was fantastic and helped us out with any of our queries. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area and the location next to Marylebone station makes it an ideal spot to chill while waiting for a train!”

  “Great pub only 2 minutes walk from Marylebone station. Do a great lunchtime food and drink deal, always been quiet when we have visited. Only disappointment was the London Pride wasn't available on our most recent visit.”

  “Amazing pub, really busy and festive. It's a bit away from the main street but worth the extra walk. Had our Christmas party here and can't recommend it enough. The food was great whether you eat meat or not and the portions were generous and tasted great. The staff were amazing and took care of us even though the pub was heaving. We all agreed that we would definitely like to visit again”

  “Fairly standard food. Visited with friends, we each enjoyed a pint and ordered individual mains. My choice was a classic British pub dish, sausages and mash, which I found to be decent but not extraordinary. The chips were acceptable.”

  “The most magical evening here at Sir John Balcombe pub. Peter and staff went above and beyond to make our wedding day perfect. The atmosphere and professionalism exceeded our expectations. Beautiful pub in itself. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to hold their wedding reception. We are forever grateful!”

  “Very nice pub just a few steps from Marylebon train station and - a little further - from Baker Street tube station. We had made ourselves comfortable on the leather sofa and tried out a few small snacks and a pint or two. Everything was very tasty and served quickly. The pub is attractively furnished. Another small bar can be found a bit hidden in the basement, although there were no guests at the time of our visit (early afternoon). The manager knows how to make guests' stay as pleasant as possible, and in addition to some drink recommendations (and a spontaneous birthday surprise for me in the form of a delicious brownie), he even had a few tips for our further stay in London for us. Thank you for the very nice chat! We had a lovely time at this pub and would highly recommend a visit!”

  “We stumbled upon Sir John Balcombe during our journey back to the station, prompted by a friend’s recommendation. This charming pub pleasantly surprised us with its cozy ambiance, and I can only imagine the lively atmosphere during peak hours. Our food and drinks were served promptly, and I must applaud their immaculate restroom facilities—truly the cleanest I’ve encountered in quite a while. The highlight was undoubtedly the delightful beef pie and vegetables; even the kids couldn’t get enough! For the exceptional experience, top-notch hygiene, and scrumptious dishes, a well-deserved 5 stars.”
