About Hare & Hounds
Hare & Hounds is a pub on Upper Richmond Rd W in East Sheen, London, that shows live rugby and serves a pie menu with meat pies, fish pies and a vegan lentil pie, so groups with different diets can eat at the same table. The Sunday roast comes with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and vegetables, and the meat options include pork belly with crackling, beef and lamb. Steaks and desserts round out the menu, with sticky toffee pudding among the sweet choices. Inside, classic wood furniture fills the room, and the team brings orders to the table. Tables can be booked in advance. Dogs are welcome, and the pub also takes private hire for groups.

Customer Review Summary
Sunday roast is what reviewers raise most, with pork belly and its crispy crackling singled out alongside beef, an enormous Yorkshire pudding, and huge helpings of vegetables and roast potatoes. Lamb and beef also get called satisfying, and the sticky toffee pudding is praised as delightful. Close behind is the staff, described as friendly, helpful and attentive, with several servers credited for explaining delays on a busy Father's Day. One vegan diner calls the lentil pie the first pub meal in years that wasn't burger and chips, while others at the table praised the meat pies, fish pies and steaks. The garden area and relaxed, homely feel also get mentions. The main complaint concerns value and consistency: one Easter Sunday visitor found the roast merely ok, with four overcooked, reheated-seeming stuffing balls and a sticky toffee pudding whose sauce tasted burnt. Another calls the food pricey but nice, and a busy Father's Day booking found several dishes unavailable. Staff removed the burnt pudding from the bill without fuss.

“We visited as a family of 7 on father's day. It was extremely busy but our lovely waitress Vicky explained everything to us including the delay for food and the dishes no longer available. Our booking was for 2.30pm so we were surprised that quite a few things weren't available. Our drinks arrived quickly and the food when it did arrive was good. The service was excellent with lots of staff on duty.”

“Sunday Roast: Service was good, really attentive. We had lamb & beef, both quite satisfying!! Chef was very accommodating, definitely get that final star this time!!”

“Love this place. My family and I had a meal there on Saturday. Really great food, lovely drinks and the hospitality was top notch - we were served by Rose who was utterly brilliant. Thanks so much.”

“Unfortunately disappointing. Staff were really lovely and venue is very well decorated and cosy however, sadly the food has gone down hill since our last trip. Went for a Sunday roast having previously thought it was great, but it was very much ‘ok’ this time. Paid £5 for stuffing balls (picture) and they really did not match the price point, we were served four over cooked small stuffing balls that didn’t seem fresh or what you would expect from a gastropub for that value. Seemed like an afterthought that was a reheat. Also ordered a sticky toffee pudding but sadly you could instantly tell by the taste that the sauce had been burnt. Staff were very helpful and apologetic in removing the pudding from the bill as we hadn’t eaten it and let them know. Just a real shame as Easter Sunday roast really fell flat due to the food just not being up to par especially for the price and previous standard.”
