Instead, the tone of your reply was dismissive and defensive, which only reinforces my decision not to return. Most people don’t leave positive reviews simply because they received the standard level of service they expected. Reviews are often written when an experience stands out—whether exceptionally good or disappointingly bad. My review reflects my bad experience on this occasion, and I believe it should be taken as constructive feedback rather than an opportunity to question my motives. FYI - I have given positive reviews and tagged you on Instagram posts several times! As for contacting the restaurant after, that’s a choice, not a requirement. Reviews exist so customers can share their genuine experiences with others, whether positive or negative. My review reflected what I experienced yesterday, and a professional response would have acknowledged the feedback rather than criticised the fact that I hadn’t contacted you first. Thanks for your “classy” response. My review: Ordered from here last night. I have had a good experience with this restaurant until then. The portion size of the flaming fries have reduced so much that it was lesser than the leftovers we usually take away after eating at the restaurant. Used to come to this place for supporting local business but for £10 even my kid wasn’t full. I think they’ve become greedy and reduced the portion size massively which isn’t helping. The burger was bland in spite of asking for a hot sauce. There was no taste and it was unseasoned. Sorry, never ordering from here or visiting again. You’ve lost a loyal customer.”

  “My partner ordered for us for the first time last night and wow... The food was absolutely amazing! Although it was a little pricey, it's one of the first times we actually felt it was justified! Will be back to try more from this lovely menu. Delivery was fast and the driver was lovely.”

  “Sadly, not the best experience. The food is tasty but portions are small for the price, one dish felt microwaved. You are also served drinks and food in take-away cardboard containers.. it feels like the place lacks a solid identity. It's like a student café that's also trying to be a restaurant, or vice versa. Lastly, perhaps a landlord issue, but the ceilings all over were falling apart from rain damage, unhealthy for a food establishment..”

  “We had ordered a full chicken and were told it would be a 30 minute wait as it would take a while to cook the chicken fully, after 50 minutes the chicken arrived late but was still raw from the inside. When explaining this to the manager with curly hair and glasses there was no apology or acknowledgment. The manager said the chicken was not raw and the way the it was made every part of it would be cooked. When pointing to the raw pink part of the chicken the manager explained this was due to a burst vein. However, with 25 years experience in the food industry and being a chef myself this is not the way you speak to a customer. All I wanted was this to be acknowledged, I was not looking for any refund but the manager dealt with the situation very poorly and I’m very disappointed with the customer service. I will leave the pictures below. I’ll not be going there again for sure.”

  “Don Pollo is deffo one of my favourite spots. I go there so often because the food is consistently good which is hard to find! I’ve literally tried everything on the menu & nothing disappoints. Their dirty fries are amazing, deffo the best I’ve ever had & the chocolate fudge cake is 12/10. Generous portion sizes & staff are always nice!”

  “Staff were nice and the food was really good, portion sizes were massive! The mango and lime sauce tasted a bit strange but the other items were nice. The restaurant was nicely decorated but strangely when food was served, it was done so in takeaway containers with wooden cutlery. Feel like if there is a nice sit in area it should have plates and silverware. I would've given it 5* if it wasn't for this and the strange tasting sauce.”
