About Bistro 19
Bistro 19 is a restaurant in Livingston at Integration House on the Alba Campus, behind office and industrial units and a few minutes' drive from the retail park and designer outlet. On weekdays at lunchtime, a main course comes with a free starter or dessert, so a two-course meal costs one main. The menu mixes classic and contemporary dishes, including Chicken Balmoral served with haggis and a schnitzel. Sticky toffee pudding sits among the desserts. The kitchen serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the doors are open daily.

Customer Review Summary
Chicken Balmoral, served with haggis, is the dish reviewers return to most, praised as perfectly cooked and excellent by several diners. Close behind is the sticky toffee pudding, called rich, warm and moist, with a Bannoffi Croissant also mentioned among generous desserts. Other named favorites include the schnitzel with its creamy butter sauce, cider glazed pork belly, halloumi fries, chorizo and prawn, and truffle fries. Reviewers describe the staff as friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere as cozy and calming, with one noting there was no rush to leave. One reviewer found the same chicken Balmoral plain, saying the black pudding chicken was nearly identical with a spoonful of haggis the only difference, and the onion rings so oily they lost their onion flavor. Another waited a long while for wine after finishing a starter. Several mention the out-of-the-way location behind office units, and one diner celebrating a birthday finished with the sticky toffee pudding.

“Took advantage of the weekday lunchtime special...buy a main course and get a starter or dessert free! The menu had lots to choose from and we were very happy with our mains (Chicken Balmoral and Beef Stroganoff). Tasty and decent portions. The desserts were of generous portions and delicious. ( Bannoffi Croissant and Sticky Toffee Pudding). Lovely staff. Good service. Attractive venue. Highly recommend. Its tucked away in a quiet part of Livingstone but only a few minutes drive from the main retail park.”

“Good service, nice atmosphere and amazing food. Portion sizes are very good and the food was so tasty. I had halloumi fries for starters and chicken Balmoral for mains. Both were excellent, looking forward to going back and trying a few more dishes! The staff were all friendly and helpful, there was no rush to get us out nor was there a push to get us to order more, im very impressed”

“There were 10 of us in our group and we loved everything about our experience here! We tried the stir fry and loved it! The steak pie was delicious and the carrots on the side were a favorite, the Moroccan Lamb was wonderful. We enjoyed the Schnitzel and The Truffle Murder Burger was yum! You can’t go wrong here. Our waiters, Scott and Charlie were so enjoyable to be with. They have great recommendations and were so attentive! I loved the Toffee Sticky Pudding…I might have licked my plate clean! We simply loved our visit and wish we were in Scotland longer so we could come again! Thank you for a wonderful meal.”
