Customer Review Summary
Steak pie is the dish reviewers raise most, praised as very good quality and topped with a huge puff pastry lid, though one found it a stew with uncooked pastry rounds and another called it bland. Fish and chips, soup and a chicken and bacon salad also earn praise. One party of 16 describes missing starters, mushy chips and a kitchen closed before pudding.

“The Livingston Inn is a great little pub with plenty of seating inside and out. We enjoyed it so much that we visited twice, once for dinner and again for lunch. The pub meals were amazing. The fish and chips and steak pie were both outstanding and come highly recommended. The staff were friendly, welcoming and provided excellent service on both visits. It’s also a great spot to watch the Premier League with a nice pint of Tennent’s. Great food, great atmosphere and brilliant staff. Well worth a visit!”

“Nothing to write home about, service terrible, we were in with a anniversary party table of 16. They left out people's starters even after reading it all back, had to ask a few times for cutlery for starter. Then again the same for main course don't think they can count to 5. The starter ( chicken strips were look warm) The chips were mushy and slightly warm. We arrived at 6 for our booking eventually got our starter at 7.15 by the time we got our main course and finished we never even got asked if we wanted pudding as the kitchen was closed. Really disappointed this time as the first time we had been it was lovely. Granted it was busy but they really need more staff. Drinks order they kept forgetting had to keep asking about it. Shame really as it's a nice clean place. If they can't cope with big tables or the kitchen can't assure the food coming out hot they shouldn't take the bookings”

“Popped in for a quick pint and ended up staying for the steak pie. Now, I've seen some pies in my time, but this one had a puff pastry top bigger than my uncle Hamish's belly. The dog loved the attention in the lounge, though I think he was just eyeing up my chips. Cheers!”
